The Rugby Players Association is the representative body and collective voice of elite rugby players in England. We represent more than 600 male and female current rugby players, as well as more than 100 former players. It is our mission to support, promote and protect the interests of our members, from the moment they begin their elite careers, throughout their playing days, and beyond as they embark on the next phase of their lives. Our members enjoy a wide range of benefits, including: independent representation; legal advice; personal and professional development; playing insurance; education; confidential counselling; transition support; and much more. Members can also access the support of our official charity, Restart, in the event of serious illness, injury or hardship. The RPA is a not-for-profit registered trade union.

It’s been great to be involved with Restart Rugby over the last couple of months, with a particular focus on this weekend’s #RestartRound of Premiership Rugby fixtures If you’re involved in sport, particularly at an elite level then you’ll know that life isn’t always as rosy as people believe it to be. Gorgeous to get down to Goldington Road and support Coach Tom Cruse last weekend as Bedford Blues took on Doncaster Knights. These 3 gents are part of a small group of players who retired last season. We’ve met every 3-4 months since and will follow that pattern for as long as they want to. Hopefully, adding a few people along the way and with doors wide open to any future retirees. No pressure or obligations to come. Just an opportunity to chew the fat, see how each other are doing and have a bit of craic. Keeping it simple and supporting how we can as we go. Awesome to see them flourishing in this chapter of their lives and plenty more to come for all of them in their various fields.
