Here at Ruth Moran Consulting our unique selling point is that ALL our Directors are fee earners and all have a number of years recruitment experience in their specialist sectors. UPDATE TIME: In addition to providing back office support, website etc to Recruiters who don’t need financial funding (or only need an initial salary/funding in the early months) we provide a full advisory/consultancy service so Neil Prestwich THE UK'S LONGEST SERVING REC2REC. and I are available 24/7 for any queries, concerns or support that’s needed. In our experience, just because someone doesn’t need extensive funding or want to scale, it doesn’t mean they are fully equipped to set up on their own. It seems to appeal because a lot of the businesses who offer a version of this don’t give much more than back office in reality. One of the main reasons this venture came about was because we were finding that Recruiters felt more comfortable with us because we are so well known and the ones we are already looking to support only wanted to go with us once they’d spoken to us despite us stressing the importance of them having choice. I would go as far as to say that we actually lost a few people who contacted us because of this, hence why the idea came about in the first place. Here's a selection of founders who we've backed to set up their own recruitment agencies: Andy - his partner works for the NHS and does shifts. With a 2 year old and another baby on the way the stress of managing workloads and diaries was becoming really stressful. "Hi Ruth I'd love to set upon my own, but I've got a really poor credit rating. Does that make me a non-starter?" Well the good news is that doesn't necessarily matter. One example out of many was *Richard, a Recruiter I recently facilitated a start up for. Amazing Recruiter but during Covid (like many) he got into debt and was behind with a few of his monthly payments. His billings were great and he's one of the nicest guys you could ever meet but for a while his financial situation wasn't the best. He starts his own business in the next couple of months. A life changing move that will give his family security for the future. He's beyond excited as am I! There's no shame in having a situation where you've got some debt issues, credit cards or even CCJ's - we've had several Recruiters with CCJ's who our Clients have been more than happy to back. The issue with serious debt only arises when you are personally applying for loans and we have a number of Clients who, because they are self-funding, will look at the bigger picture. Particularly post-Covid and and with the cost of living crisis, there's lots of great Recruiters out there who are not in the financial position that they hoped they would be. It's not a deal breaker! First of all, don't feel embarrassed about it, there's no need (believe me when I say I've been there!!)
