We have had a busy couple of weeks, with customer visits, Factory Acceptance Testing visits, and tours for the local community college. On one of the visits we had some great feedback, "That's a great-looking panel, the layout, and the wiring is so neat". So a BIG THANK YOU to the team. At Saftronics we strive for excellence in everything we do, and it would be lovely to hear from our followers, please comment if you agree.

A little update from our project manager Andrew Dixon! With the sad passing of Rob Burrow recently it made me reflect on a few weeks ago when I had the privilege of seeing him at the Rob Burrow Marathon in Leeds. Following on from my participation in the Yorkshire Marathon Relay last October, which I have previously posted about, I challenged myself with running the Leeds Half Marathon. Bearing in mind that I hadn’t run any further than 6 miles prior to the relay this was going to mean committing to training through the winter months, not something I was particularly enamoured about! But with the support of some great friends, who dragged me out to run in all weathers, I felt confident on race day.   I loved every minute of the 13.1 miles! The crowds were tremendous, encouraging me, and every other runner, around the course. It was certainly an experience I will never forget! At the end of the run, I was fortunate enough to be invited into the hospitality area where Kevin Sinfield, who had completed the Marathon once again, was with Rob Burrow, his family and friends. You could tell that Rob was thrilled to be present, watching all the finishers, relishing in their pride of achieving their own personal battles with the course, whether it be the Marathon or the Half.    For two men that had achieved so much in the game of Rugby League cheering us across the finish line was so humbling and refreshing to see. True Gentlemen and forever Legends! My running journey is no way on a par with Rob’s MND diagnosis but taking his final words and reflections into account, we must all face our individual battles head on and dare to dream!    Twelve months ago I wouldn’t have considered, let alone attempted to run 13.1 miles, now I am looking for my next challenge. Thank you for the inspiration Rob and Kevin, the legacy the pair of you have created is truly remarkable and will continue to be built upon.  RIP Rob Burrow.

The evening has become established as a key date in the calendar for the Leeds manufacturing community and recognises the achievements of the sector’s ‘next generation’ talent with awards for apprentice of the year, future manufacturing leader, rising star, and manufacturing employer of the year. Congratulations to all the winners, runners-up, and nominees.
