FULL CONTRACT FOR TWO ROTARY INCINERATORS   The core elements of this German customer’s thermal residue utilisation plant are two rotary furnaces. The plant has been operating since its installation in 1973 for waste disposal by incineration. After so many years of operation, distortion and clear signs of corrosion made an overhaul imperative. The Field Service team was confronted with challenges. For the entire duration of dismantling and assembly one of the two furnaces remained in operation, which made working conditions difficult. The work had to be carried out in the very limited space available, and kiln repairs were undertaken in several trades simultaneously. As a consequence of the tight space some of the components had to be divided into sections and subsequently reassembled.   After the intensive assembly and repair measures the Field Service team was proud to announce the successful conclusion of the job. All adjustments were carried out with great care, and the furnaces are now operational. Audit measures to prevent potential future problems have already been programmed for the next shutdown periods.
