We are passionate about providing outstanding, resident-led services within modern, comfortable and homely environments.

About us

Our directors have more than 50 years’ combined experience working in the care sector. They have pooled their knowledge, expertise and passion for the sector to create the Sandstone Care Group. Supported by high quality staff and a fantastic management team, they have a proven track record in successfully developing and running care homes. Having spent many years operating and managing care homes throughout the UK on behalf of others through our management company Caresolve, we are excited and privileged to have the opportunity to utilise the vast experience we have gained to operate our own homes, as the Sandstone Care Group. Our vision is to rapidly develop a fantastic, unrivalled reputation for delivering exceptional standards of care. In 2020, we opened the Oaks Care Home, a purpose-built, 73-bed luxury nursing and residential home in Newtown, Powys. We then added three existing care homes – St Helens Hall & Lodge, Longridge Hall & Lodge and Fleetwood Hall – to our portfolio of homes. We welcomed a second new care home in Merseyside to the Group in 2021. Oak Springs Care Home in Wavertree, Liverpool, offers a mix of residential, dementia and early onset dementia care across three floors. Our newest purpose-built luxury care home is Ribble Court Care Home in Much Hoole, near Preston. Our high quality and purpose built home offers a mix of luxury residential care and specialist/complex nursing care.

A Nurse’s Journey at Sandstone Care Celebrating personal growth, professional development, and the unwavering support that shaped a dedicated healthcare professional. At Sandstone Care, we pride ourselves on nurturing our staff and fostering an environment of growth and learning. We celebrate the incredible journey of one of our own, Olivia Yates – a care assistant who has successfully transitioned into the role of a registered nurse at Burscough Manor, overcoming challenges and blossoming into an impactful healthcare professional. From the moment Olivia first studied Health and Social Care, this dedicated professional knew her path was in healthcare. Reflecting on her early days, she recalls: “I knew I wanted to work within the healthcare sector after studying a BTEC in Health and Social Care at college. When my teacher mentioned nursing, it immediately resonated with me. It was a career that I could see myself pursuing, and that seed of inspiration grew from there.” Her initial experiences as a care assistant only fueled her desire to progress. Working alongside experienced nurses at Burscough Manor provided a glimpse into what her future could hold. Their dedication and passion inspired her to strive for more, motivating her to turn her aspirations into reality. As a care assistant at Sandstone Care, she was entrusted with providing essential personal care, supporting residents’ mental health and fostering a nurturing environment. Her responsibilities ranged from feeding and toileting to ensuring the residents’ overall wellbeing. The role was challenging but pivotal in shaping her journey. 🎉 Dorothy Looks Forward to Receiving Card from King Charles for her 100th Birthday 🎉 Longridge Hall Care Home is thrilled to celebrate a momentous occasion as one of its cherished resident, Dorothy Edmonson, turns 100 years old. Born on the 11th October 1924, Dorothy has spent her entire life in Longridge, witnessing its transformation over the decades and forming deep roots within the community. Dorothy met her husband, Bill, in Longridge, where they grew up on the same street. They married in 1950, a union that lasted a remarkable 59 years. Together, they raised two sons and created a legacy that now includes grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom live in the Longridge area. Dorothy’s childhood memories of Longridge include playing on the local “rec” and watching the steam trains pass to and from the quarry. At just 15 years old when World War II broke out, she vividly recalls the hardships of the war years, including sleeping in and ¾ bed in her mother’s bathroom, due to the housing and rental shortage. Known for her love of the outdoors, Dorothy enjoyed long walks around Longridge and cherished caravan holidays in the Yorkshire Dales with Bill. A talented seamstress, she often made dresses for local events and balls, particularly during her courtship with Bill. Even today, Dorothy continues to crochet and knit, proudly filling her wardrobe with homemade outfits. In addition to her talents as a clothes maker, Dorothy was also musically gifted, playing piano for local dance bands and later at the Derby Arms and Forester Arms in Longridge. She shared this passion with her school music teacher, Gurty Turner, who also taught Mary, one of Longridge Hall’s Care Practitioners. Dorothy and Mary now enjoy reminiscing about their shared experiences in Longridge over the years. Dorothy worked at the Smiths cloth factory on Berry Lane, in her late teens into her early twenties, and purchased her first home with Bill for just £1,600 in 1950. The house became the centre of their lives for 20 years as they raised their family. Today, Dorothy continues to embrace life with her signature energy and creativity. She enjoys spending time on her iPad, where she looks at family photos and searches for new crochet patterns. A popular resident at Longridge Hall, Dorothy is known for her warmth and kindness, loved by both residents and carers alike. The Longridge Hall Care Home community, along with Dorothy’s family, will come together to celebrate her 100th birthday in the care home’s pub, The Lodgers Arms. Dorothy is eagerly looking forward to this special celebration and to receiving her official birthday card from King Charles. Longridge Hall is honoured to celebrate Dorothy’s incredible life and looks forward to making her centenary birthday a memorable occasion. Happy Birthday Dorothy!
