Its been an incredible journey so far, a message from CEO and founder Michael Patel. "11 years and 9 months ago, I founded Sapphire Utility Solutions with only a handful of people and vehicles, but with a vision to use over 20 years' experience in utilities to create a different offering to the industry. 11 years and 9 months later, Sapphire Utility Solutions is fast approaching £200m turnover with over 1,500 employees delivering critical services for the biggest clients in water and gas across the UK. Over the past 2 years, I have been working with Wayne and the leadership team to develop our future growth plan. To support the achievement of this plan, I couldn’t be prouder that BlackRock, the world’s largest asset manager with $11.5 trillion dollars, has recognised our potential and value by making this significant investment. None of this would have been possible without our great people, partners, and suppliers who have helped develop Sapphire into the company it is today, along with our many clients who have put their trust in us to deliver their commitments. I’m so confident in the future of the group that I continue to be invested and look forward to the incredible opportunities that will be created with BlackRock on our team. With the company in such a strong position, I have made the decision to step down as CEO, allowing me to focus on further expanding my fast-growing property company’s in the U.K. and abroad. Martin Gee will head up Sapphire and is ready to take the business forward. However, I will provide advisory support to the business beyond my departure at Christmas, continuing to support Martin and the new team. My friend and colleague Colin is also stepping down. We’ve had some ups and downs, but we got through everything thrown at us, and I would like to thank him for a job well done. I wish Martin and the new management team every success in the future and am sure they will take the business to the next level."

Core Reactive Site Manager on the United Utilities AMP7 Framework (Cumbria + Lancashire) | Reactive sewer cleaning, pollution, flooding incidents
Another day out and about with the team today. Doing some reactive maintenance on a 450mm sewer directly downstream of a CSO that had a large amount of root ingress and siltation. Made use of the Turbo flail nozzle from Paul Latus which made light work of removing the roots. 👍🏼 Onto the next one. Sapphire Utility Solutions Ltd

We’ve started work to reduce the number of discharges into the river Aire at Rawcliffe and West Cowick near Goole. Our partners Morrison Water Services and Sapphire Utility Solutions Ltd are upgrading the sewage pumping station at Royal Oak Rawcliffe. The scheme will not only improve operational efficiency of the pumping station but also reduce discharges into the river. The £1m investment at West Cowick sewage pumping station includes the installation of new storage to hold rainfall and wastewater during wet weather. Once completed it will reduce discharges from the pumping station by 75%. For more information go to; https://ow.ly/uhPT50TBUH2
