“Immediate support needed for families of children with cancer” Kate Munday-Hoctor is calling for urgent psychological support for families like hers. After her daughter Amber was diagnosed with synovial sarcoma, Kate saw how little support there is for parents. Amber has since undergone five surgeries, six weeks of radiotherapy, and numerous other traumatic procedures. Now 15, Amber has been cancer-free since 2020, but continues to struggle with PTSD. Kate believes that families should have immediate access to psychological support from the very start of their journey. In recognition of her dedication to supporting other parents through the Sarcoma Parents Support Group, Kate has been shortlisted for Support Group Champion of the Year in Sarcoma UK’s Shining Star Awards. Thank you Kate for your tireless dedication to supporting families affected by sarcoma 💙

We're delighted to share that our Don't Delay campaign for Sarcoma Awareness Month 2024 has been shortlisted for Best Charity-Agency Collaboration at the CharityComms Inspiring Communicator Awards! Together with the talented team at Awesomesauce Marketing, we created a campaign that put the spotlight on late diagnosis of sarcoma. The powerful 'days to diagnosis' concept - featuring the experiences of over 30 people affected by sarcoma - reached millions online, in the press and on the streets. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who generously shared their story and helped raise vital awareness of sarcoma. Watch this space for the results on Dec 4. 🤞 sarcoma.org.uk/dontdelay #SarcomaAwareness #DontDelay #CharityComms

We’re pleased to announce we’ve published a new online hub around financial support. The new hub has information about the different types of benefits, how to claim them, and where to find extra support. We have worked with members of our Patient Involvement Network and Financial Support professionals throughout, to make sure the information reflects the real-world challenges and concerns faced by the sarcoma community.
