  • 🦴Meet Elliott Cobb-Webb, who’s running the London Marathon dressed as a human bone to honour his father, Paul, who died just six months after his sarcoma diagnosis. Paul first noticed a lump on his thigh but dismissed it for months, thinking it was just a knock. It wasn’t until a physio urged him to get it checked that he was diagnosed with pleomorphic soft tissue sarcoma. His story is a painful reminder of why early detection is so important. Now, Elliott is turning his grief into action by tackling the London Marathon on 27 April for Sarcoma UK, helping to fund vital research and support for those affected. Thank you Elliott 💙 Read more about Elliott's story at https://lnkd.in/eym8_xyq #TeamSarcoma #SarcomaAwareness #LondonMarathon

  • Sarcoma UK and GIST Cancer UK are deeply disappointed that the Scottish Medicines Consortium has not approved Ripretinib (Qinlock®) for NHS Scotland. This crucial fourth-line treatment could have extended lives and improved quality of life for those with advanced GIST. “When the evidence shows a treatment can provide both extended survival and improved quality of life for patients with a rare cancer like GIST, we need approval systems that recognise this value.” -Richard Davidson, Chief Executive of Sarcoma UK Sarcoma UK and GIST Cancer UK have committed to continue working with other charities, the manufacturer, and the NHS to push for GIST patients to have access to this drug in the future. Hi all, in 2021 I was diagnosed with Sarcoma Cancer, a rare cancer which only affects 5% of the population. After two cancer surgeries over the last 4 years, I am still standing strong! Royal Marsden Hospital has the UK specialist team and I can say I am grateful to be with them every step towards being cancer free (not there yet but I will be!) I have been blessed to still have the strength to contribute to some amazing parts of our community in need, raising my voice for others and their challenges, I gave my time to help where need, performing, mentoring and more. This time I would like to use my own talents for Sarcoma UK, helping families who need that extra support, and with each purchase of The Uprise EP part 1, I will be donating all profits to Sarcoma Uk cancer research. I will be working of The Uprise Part 2 for the rest of this year and away from social media, so I’m excited for the next step! If you can support me and Sarcoma cancer UK by purchasing The Uprise part 1 limited edition vinyl, you will also receive the digital version of the tracks included in your purchased. Love always Max Cyrus https://lnkd.in/e4PyDfgc
