It was a great privilege to visit Mansion House on Monday for the Wellcome Trust's Invest In Mental Health Dinner with the Lord and Lady Mayoress of London. It was lovely to see so many people in one room working towards the same goal in such a variety of different, innovative ways. We're proud to share this #3DReconstruction of a now-raised WW2 U-boat found in Birkenhead, United Kingdom, made by 3D artist Dr. David Tully of Scenegraph Studios. Specifically, this survey focused on the back door of the boat engine room. The 3D scan was made from 110 pictures taken with the full-frame camera Sony Alpha PK 7R III and processed in #3DFZephyr. David and his team's work is part of a vast restoration project run by Big Heritage. The project involves building a museum next to the boat and bringing its stories back to life. They have invested in five headsets with the full suite of SpiritVR applications; SpiritVR – Journey, SpiritVR- Confidence and SpiritVR – Sensory These headsets will be made available throughout the university for all students. I caught up just before Easter with Nicola Honey at Scenegraph Studios at START-YARD to see how their mission of revolutionising the way people experience digital content is developing. They strive to push the boundaries of what is possible in the XR industry, leveraging cutting-edge technology to craft experiences that transport clients to new worlds. They also provide them in the process with unique perspectives and insights. Their goal is to make XR accessible and enjoyable for everyone, whether they are using it for entertainment, education, or other purposes.
