School of Design research spotlight on BBC Sounds 'You and Yours' Kate Morris, a PhD researcher from School of Design, recently shared insights on garment durability and price correlation from her research collaboration with Primark. Based on rigorous lab testing simulating years of wear, the findings challenge common beliefs about price as a marker of quality. In one notable result, a £5 t-shirt proved to be among the most durable items. At Light Night Leeds 2024, School of Design PhD practice-led researcher Kelly Cumberland unveiled 'Iteration LN24', a collaborative installation with neuroscientific researchers Dr. Heiko Wurdak and Dr. Sabrina Samuel. This work combines cellular biology and visual artistry to reframe our understanding of complex cellular processes. Using projection, mirrors, and paper-cutting, Kelly’s work invites viewers to explore where scientific data meets creative expression, challenging the perceived boundaries between scientific observation and artistic interpretation. #ArtAndScience #ResearchInnovation #Neuroscience #LeedsLightNight2024 #UniversityofLeeds #SchoolofDesign

Experience is always welcome, but more than that you should be keen to learn the ins and outs of the creative industry while on the job. The ideal candidate will be able to come up with interesting and eclectic ideas, be a big thinker, and someone who enjoys experimenting, embracing novel solutions, and sharing their vision and concepts.   Gain plenty of experience and exposure: The successful applicant will be the 6th person to join the team. KISS Branding works across various industries and verticals. As a Junior Designer, you will take on a highly rounded position, becoming actively involved across a range of projects, and work on multiple fronts.   Start strong: The starting salary for this position is between £22,000 – £28,000 per year (depending on experience), with plenty of potential for future growth.
