Scotland faces a triple crisis. Nature is in decline, climate change is knocking on our door, and both are affecting our health and wellbeing. But there is a solution: Rewilding. 🌿 SCOTLAND: The Big Picture is raising £25,000 to help restore nature, address climate change and improve our wellbeing. Through rewilding, we can create healthier, nature-rich, climate resilient landscapes. And thanks to the Aviva Community Fund, for a limited time, your donation will be DOUBLED, delivering twice the impact! Donate today: https://lnkd.in/dynpTff9 #MakingRewildingHappen

About us
Despite its beauty, Scotland has become a nature-depleted nation. SCOTLAND: The Big Picture is a charity that works with a diverse range of people to drive the recovery of nature across Scotland through rewilding, in response to the growing climate and biodiversity crises. Our vision is of a vast network of rewilded land and water across Scotland, where wildlife and people flourish. #Rewilding #BigPicture

SCOTLAND: The Big Picture reposted this
The room is buzzing with rewilding conversations at SCOTLAND: The Big Picture #BigPictureConference today. Scots want more rewilding action, and as James Shooter said - it’s time for Scotland to “welcome the wild back in” and to focus on “co-prosperity and not just co-existence” with nature and animals. Bringing people together, learning about nature restoration, and fostering hope is key to #MakingRewildingHappen

The Northwoods Rewilding Network recently coordinated a day of practical rewilding with volunteers from Young Spirits, an Edinburgh-based bottling company. They spent time at Tombane removing non-native conifers and protecting young native trees. 🌳 Volunteers enjoyed a day in the sunshine, hearing from Hamish about Tombane's rewilding story, while taking the opportunity to reconnect with nature (and leaving with purple tongues from a feast of blaeberries!)

News of a Natural Environment Bill feels like a positive step forward for nature – the thing that underpins every aspect of our lives, giving us clean water, food, air and enrichment. Along with our friends at The Scottish Rewilding Alliance, we think there's a way for Scotland to be a trailblazer in nature restoration globally: by being bold and becoming the world's first #RewildingNation. Join us in signing the charter today: Rewild.scot/charter
The First Minister has just announced that the Scottish Government WILL introduce a Natural Environment Bill. We're glad to see the new Bill will lay the groundwork for statutory nature targets, giving us a chance to keep pace with the rest of the world. Modernising our national parks, better management of our deer population and updating our habitat legislation are also welcome. But we're still at risk of being left behind. Rewilding offers our best hope of restoring health to the natural world we all depend on. It offers a chance to breathe life back into our declining land and seas – revitalising natural processes; restoring species; enriching communities; boosting jobs and heath; and building resilience against challenges the future holds. 4 out of 5 Scottish people want to see their government take bold action on rewilding. We are urging the Scottish Government to declare Scotland the world’s first Rewilding Nation, committing to nature recovery across 30% of our land and seas. Stand with us - sign the Rewilding Nation Charter here: www.rewild.scot/charter
