  • At SEP, we are committed to addressing our carbon footprint and investing in the future of our planet. In 2024, we partnered with climate solutions network Patch to adopt a more impact-led approach, investing in durable carbon removal solutions such as direct air capture, enhanced weathering, and biochar. By prioritising carbon removal over conventional offsetting, we’re helping these essential new technologies scale and accelerate their vital work.   Read more about our carbon removal strategy here: https://lnkd.in/emfqK9bB

  • Reflections from our Annual meeting.   Last week we welcomed Limited Partners, portfolio companies and guest speakers to the National Galleries of Scotland in an engaging and insightful Annual meeting.   We build powerful partnerships with the founders and leaders of the companies we invest in and it was great to hear from those leaders talking to common themes seen in scaling enterprise software businesses. Some key take aways.   • Harnessing the potential of AI: AI was a common theme throughout the day with many of the portfolio using proprietary AI in their software. Insights on the 20/20 rule of AI driving revenue and enhancing productivity were of particular interest together with a discussion on the value of proprietary data in offering defensible intellectual product innovation.   • Building high performing boards and teams: High-performing, independent boards with sector expertise are crucial for sustainable scaling. We discussed how an active board can effectively navigate companywide growth and empower teams to embrace innovation.   • Winning through operational excellence: Having a clear go to market strategy supported by practical operational assistance is pivotal when scaling internationally, engaging with enterprise customers, and working with channel partners.   • The opportunity in software and industry 4.0: Industrial software and industry 4.0 is a current strategic priority for industrial enterprises. The opportunity is enormous particularly where AI is combined with specialist analysis and insight.   Thank you to all who joined us on the day and helped to make the event a success.    Learn more on our investment strategy and approach here. https://lnkd.in/ep5m8PXU

  • Strengthening Customer Success: Securing Strategic Influence We are pleased to share an insightful article by Rav Dhaliwal, which delves into the evolving landscape of Customer Success. A common challenge for Customer Success leaders is their struggle to gain a strategic foothold within their organisations. Unlike their sales counterparts, they often "do not have a seat at the table." This article explores how embracing the language of revenue, aligning with sales pipelines, refining critical sales skills, and maintaining consistent internal communication can change that narrative. Rav Dhaliwal, a senior advisor to SEP and the founder of the Global Customer Success team at Slack, provides a compelling case for how Customer Success can secure its place at the decision-making table. For those committed to advancing their Customer Success strategy and driving substantial business outcomes, this article is essential reading. 🔗 Read the full article here https://lnkd.in/e-YNvSBg #CustomerSuccess #GrowthEquity #StrategicLeadership
