We are pleased to announce that James Muirhead has been appointed as our new Chief Commercial Officer. A proud eighth-generation member of the Muirhead family, James carries forward a rich legacy. His great-great-grandfather, Andrew Muirhead, founded Muirhead in 1840, and his great-grandfather, Arthur Muirhead, established Bridge of Weir Leather in 1905. James has been a part of our Group since 2006, gaining experience across various areas within the business. He furthered his expertise by studying at the University of Northampton and later took on the role of Quality Engineer, which he held until 2011. Since then, he has contributed significantly to the Sales team at Bridge of Weir and has successfully led the team for the past 14 months. We are confident that his extensive experience, strong connection to our company, and deep understanding of our products and customers will make him a great addition to the board and invaluable to the Group’s continued success. #leadership #newappointment #familybusiness

We are delighted to announce an exciting collaboration between Bridge of Weir Leather, Muirhead and visionary British-Ghanaian designer Kusheda Mensah, the creative force behind Modular by Mensah. An innovative and thought-provoking installation will be on display at the V&A museum, as part of the London Design Festival, from 14 September until 13 October. It aims to redefine leather's evolving role in contemporary design, celebrating the natural features of beautiful, genuine leather through design, materiality, and craftsmanship. The electrified Porsche 911 (964), known as the Evergreen Commission, showcases a full interior crafted from Bridge of Weir Leather's bespoke, harvest-coloured Nappa hide. This marks a new milestone in Bridge of Weir's ongoing efforts to raise the bar for environmentally sustainable, high-quality automotive leather. BioTAN® technology not only increases the bio-based content of our chrome-free leather but also reaffirms our position as a leader in sustainable leather innovation.

We are dedicated to operational excellence and continuously strive to enhance efficiency by identifying and resolving issues across our manufacturing operations. We are excited to share the success of a recent project focused on our spraying operations. Through careful evaluation, the team uncovered challenges that were slowing down the process and quickly developed effective solutions. The team's findings were presented to management, showcasing their enthusiasm and commitment. As a result, they achieved an impressive reduction of over 50% in lost time during changeovers.
