Last week was pretty great. SEADS was awarded the Prix Bulles from the fantastic Pierre Cardin team during a wonderful event on the French Riviera. The "Ocean4 our Planet" award rewards startups whose actions and projects have a positive impact on the environment and our oceans. United in collecting plastic waste from the ocean 💙🌊

Last month, eight of our #SITAlumni (Fibsen, MYCOTEX by NEFFA, Newcy, PlasticFri®, Resortecs, ROSI, SEADS - Sea Defence Solutions and Vortex Bladeless Wind Power) pitched their impactful and innovative solutions to investors, illustrating how innovative technological ventures contribute to the circular economy and help address the impact of climate change in very different areas. These powerful presentations took place during the seventh ChangeNOW conference — the largest event on solutions for the planet — held in Paris from 25 to 27 March 2024. The three-day summit brought together over 35 000 of the world’s leading policymakers, entrepreneurs, investors, companies, non-governmental organisations and individuals to address pressing issues concerning climate, resources, biodiversity and inclusion. ChangeNOW summit… the name says it all. Founded by two INSEAD Alumni: Santiago Lefebvre and Kevin Tayebaly (both MBA’15J), this event, which was held from March 25 to 27, is dedicated to showcasing and discussing concrete actions and projects that have and could have positive impact for systemic change. As we walked the aisles of the show, we had the privilege to meet leaders of change who passionately presented their solutions. Among them were INSEAD alumni showcasing their innovations, from SEADS - Sea Defence Solutions, whose mission is to protect our oceans by deploying river barriers that collect macroplastic waste, to PRONOE, a pioneer in restoring the oceans' natural carbon sequestration capabilities and Libu, which harnesses the power of biomimetic lighting to recreate sunlight with remarkable health benefits, reducing stress levels by an impressive 25%! 🌞 I also attended a few sessions which were incredibly inspiring, from the INSEAD Impact #Entrepreneurship Forum to the power of storytelling in raising awareness of climate change through various media platforms, to how to foster sustainable and shared mobility, to African women leading initiatives and solutions for social impact and climate change. Kudos to Santiago, Kevin, and the entire ChangeNOW team for orchestrating such a transformative and inspiring event. How many of you dream of making a real impact but find yourselves in roles or companies where the connection isn't direct? 🌿 💛 I've always believed that creating a positive impact isn't confined to our job descriptions. It's in the values we embody and the actions we take daily, beyond the immediate scope of our work's products or services. Even 1 week later, there's something incredibly energizing about dedicating your day to meaningful work, embracing the broadest sense of 'impact.' 🌍 🧡 The variety of industries, innovations, and leadership I encountered across different countries and company sizes was not just inspiring but deeply motivating. 🔥 ❤️ A heartfelt thank you to Paula Miquelis for inviting me and introducing me to ID Genève Watches, who've created the first impact native luxury watch brand. ❤️ Special shoutout to Shiva Dustdar for consistently proving the incredible influence of female leadership in driving change; allowing me to discover the innovative startups backed by European Investment Bank (EIB), such as Resortecs with Cédric Vanhoeck, and SEADS - Sea Defence Solutions with Fabio Dalmonte and Paolo Senes (he/him). Their pioneering work in #circularity is nothing short of groundbreaking. ❤️ Lastly, immense gratitude to Fédération Française du Prêt à Porter Féminin and Thibaut Ledunois for organizing an unforgettable event around sustainability. We're glad to welcome onboard Fabrizio Cortesi as Consultant, Sales and Business Development Executive! Fabrizio has decades of experience in various multinational companies as Ericsson, Nokia and Huawei, and in his most recent role he was operating in Brussels as Strategies and Policies director for Huawei. In his role at SEADS - Sea Defence Solutions he will expand the national and international market opportunities for river barriers and environmental services, and grow the partnership network for the company's ground-breaking solution to stop plastic pollutions in rivers. Fabrizio has a long standing commitment to environmental sustainability and he will leverage his passion and experience to achieve SEADS' ambitious goals.
