All the proposals that have been successful for the #BSidesLDN2024 Call for Papers and Rookie tracks have been sent out, there is still a few to send for the workshops, they will be out soon. If you have submitted a proposal to this years conference, and the response this year has been big, please check your junk/spam folders, our emails do get caught in those, and if you have an email from us, please read it and confirm you still wish to continue with your presentation. We are aiming to have the provisional schedule out this Friday. This Friday (at 1337hrs) is also the last ticket release https://lnkd.in/e2KT3rzM If you have a ticket for BSides London and can no longer make the event, please cancel or transfer the ticket (both can be done on Eventbrite) to someone who can. We work hard to ensure BSides London free to attend, it removes a barrier that helps some people who otherwise may not be able to participate. The downside is people claim a free ticket and think there are no consequences for not using it, after all it was free. There actually is, this is a community event and they are limited in number, you would be preventing someone in the community from benefiting from coming, their attendance could get them a job, inspire them to do something they're seen, in short, it could be life changing for someone, don't be the one to block them! #Security #BSides #London #Tickets #Community

As you may know I have a history with USB devices! A few years ago at Security BSides London I showed you could turn a vape into a hacking tool. For over a year now I’ve been consolidating all my public work on BadUSB style attacks into a single hardware platform. The code for which I’ve now open sourced. I’m branding the project as the ‘USB Army Knife’ with the tag line ‘the ultimate tool for penetration testers and red teamers’. This is the kind of spy tool you’d see Bond or Mr Robot using - rock up, plug in and gain access. What’s interesting about it is how easily one device can pretend to be many others, and how these can be linked together for more complicated attacks. For instance: You can plug it in, pretend to be a storage device but simultaneously deauthing the WiFi and capturing the traffic for offline cracking. Or Turning this thing into a USB networking device and exploit vulnerabilities like the latest Linux printer one. After its release a little over two weeks ago interest has been nuts and it’s already been ported to two other hardware platforms. If you’re interested in physical access tools check this out. I’m particularly excited about how I can now pull the contents of your screen over this little thing. https://lnkd.in/eDXksYHu
