About us

SeeAbility encourages people with disabilities to challenge what they expect from life, from themselves and from wider society. SeeAbility provides extraordinary support and champions better eye care for people with learning disabilities and autism, many of whom have sight loss. Registered as The Royal School for the Blind, SeeAbility is one of the oldest disability charities in the UK and has pioneered specialist support for over 200 years.

👁️ This year, 3,863 people were impacted by our Eye Care Champions, helping make eye care more accessible for people with learning disabilities. After over a decade of campaigning, we secured a commitment from the Government to provide sight tests in every special school in England, ensuring thousands of children get the eye care they need, transforming lives and saving sight. Our work doesn’t stop with children. Adults with learning disabilities also need accessible, quality eye care, and our Eye Care Champions are raising awareness and improving access. In South East London, we’ve helped launch the Easy Eye Care Service, benefiting 30,000 people We're thrilled to share a new blog from Eye Care Champion Lance, who talks about the exciting launch of the Easy Eye Care service in South East London. This new pathway is designed to make eye care more accessible for people with learning disabilities and autism. Read Lance's thoughts on this important step forward. https://lnkd.in/eHj_vcDj #InclusiveEyeCare #EyeCareForAll #SeeAbilityImpactReport #EyeCareChampions
