Welcome to the Seedcamp Nation, MOTORMIA! We love being on a founder's journey from Day One! Sometimes our collaboration starts even earlier with operators of our portfolio companies turned entrepreneurs, such as Isaac B., a serial entrepreneur and operator with multiple CRO experiences. Our relationship goes back to him being an executive at Rossum, one of our portfolio companies, and then a member of our Expert Collective. A car enthusiast himself, he founded MOTORMIA in 2023 to provide a consumer AI experience – called MIA – that personalizes the connection between enthusiasts and their vehicles, fostering deeper relationships with manufacturers and service providers. On why we partnered with Motormia, our Venture Partner 👨🏻💻 Andy Budd comments: “We’ve had the pleasure of working with Isaac during his time at Rossum, where his talent for driving growth was evident. So when he told us about Motormia, we were excited to be involved from day one. As a hardcore petrolhead, it made perfect sense for Isaac to dive into the car modding community, and honestly, it’s a space that’s been crying out for fresh ideas. His plan to use AI to help enthusiasts unlock even more potential in their projects felt like a game-changer.” We are excited to participate in MOTORMIA’s $8M funding round alongside Lerer Hippeau, QP Ventures, Verissimo Ventures, State of Mind Ventures (SOMV), deftly.vc, and Alumni Ventures. MOTORMIA will exhibit at the upcoming SEMA Show in Las Vegas, Nevada, from November 5 to 8, in booth 11179 in the North Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center. Welcome to the Seedcamp Nation, .txt! Despite the increased adoption of LLMs in enterprises, AI models still cannot be easily used in production environments, as they require human intervention. We are excited to partner with co-founders Rémi Louf, Daniel Gerlanc, and Brandon T. Willard as they build Dottxt, an ecosystem and platform for interacting with large language models (LLMs), designed to deliver the most accurate and high-performing structured language generation available. Using dottxt, LLMs can output language with vastly enhanced usability through customized, structured generation. We believed in the team from day one, writing a cheque in their $3.2 million Pre-Seed round, led by Elaia. Dottxt’s fast growth attracted investors’ attention and the team closed an $8.7 million Seed round led by EQT Ventures, in August 2024 with our continued support alongside Common Magic, Kima Ventures, Roxanne VARZA (Station F), Erik Bernhardsson, Julien Chaumond (Hugging Face, CTO), Bob van Luijt (Weaviate, CEO), and Jean-Louis Quéguiner (Gladia, CEO). Huge congrats from our team, Natasha Ratanshi-Stein 🏄🏼♀️ Good luck with the next stage of your journey!
Today, I’m incredibly proud to be announcing the sale of Surfboard to Dialpad, a phenomenal company that I can’t wait to be part of. Three and half years ago, in my spare room, having seen the antiquated market for workforce management technology while at Bulb, I took a blank piece of paper and started to sketch what a better company in this space could look like. By keeping a resolute focus on how we can make our customers’ lives easier by delivering simpler, smarter and fairer technology, we were quickly able to build something that is better than competing products built by legacy players with vast resources. I couldn’t be happier to have Dialpad as a home as we enter the next stage of our journey. The customer service industry is in the midst of a rapid transformation, and the opportunity for companies that are positioned on the right side of that change is huge. Being part of a full-service business communications platform with deep AI capabilities will accelerate our mission and reach. I never thought I would find a partner with such a shared vision for how the customer service team of the future will operate. When we first began speaking to Craig Walker, Vincent Paquet, Mike Kourey and Fabrice Della Mea earlier this year, it was immediately clear that the opportunities we could capture by joining forces were enormous. We’ve already begun preparing an ambitious road map to add Dialpad’s AI firepower to Surfboard, and get a product we’re incredibly proud of into more hands. Getting to the point where we can be acquired by one of the leading companies in the industry, backed by some of the best investors globally, is a strong validation of everything we’ve built. It’s a testament to the relentless hard work and perseverance of our team and the need for a better solution in this space. Of course, we owe a deep gratitude to the countless people who have supported us, including early customers, investors, mentors, and friends and family. I thought being acquired would be the most exciting thing to happen in the month, but I gave birth to my first child a week earlier. My little boy got to see a few days of me as a Founder. You can never include everyone who has been helpful on the journey but I wanted to shoutout some incredible investors and mentors who have been particularly helpful Gabriel, Fly Ventures, Reshma, Seedcamp, Deepali, Frederik, Speedinvest, Keenan Rice, Angie, Andrin, Kai, Antoine, Marc, Tim, Jag, Catherine, Jonathan, Riaz, Hayden, Amit, Felix, and Patrick and Sagar who worked tirelessly to get this deal over the line while I was giving birth. And of course Joseph Stein who encouraged me to take the leap and become a founder, supported me everyday on the journey and brainstormed everything Surfboard related on multiple neighbourhood walks 😍

Welcome to the Seedcamp Nation, Nurture! Parents worldwide strive to prioritise their children’s early education and better prepare them for an uncertain future dominated by fast-paced technological change. This is why we are excited to partner with Nurture, a startup creating a new way for children aged 4 – 7 to learn foundational skills through immersive play. Father of two young boys, Nurture Co-founder & CEO Roger Egan III had an important realization in early 2020: for the first time in history, no one knows what skills or jobs will be relevant in 20 years. He named the problem “the life preparedness gap”. Together with co-founders Danny Limanseta, Scott Stewart, Julie Stewart, and Sally Doherty, Nurture is bridging the disconnect between how and what kids are taught in school and their preparedness for the future. Nurture’s Immersive Learning Media (ILM) platform combines the best aspects of children’s television and gaming to create immersive story-based adventures. Learning themes are introduced in the story and kids apply the skills they learn in interactive games and creative projects. We are excited to co-lead Nurture’s $2.8 million pre-seed round alongside Golden Gate Ventures and Reach Capital. Read on: https://sdca.mp/nurture
