Very excited for this fireside chat with Rapha from tl;dv - AI Meeting Assistant tomorrow at #StartSummit! So many reasons why I love the tl;dv story, and I believe it’s quite a unique one in the Seedcamp portfolio… 1. A truly pan-European DNA – at a time where Europe is finally realising that cross-border collaboration will be essential to ensure its success, tl;dv is an early example of this. Two Germans (Raphael + Carlo) and a French (Allan) starting a company together and building a remote-first org with talents from all across the continent, backed solely by European VCs (👋🏼 MSM fund (Mustard Seed Maze), another.vc, Kfund, Shilling VC). 2. A rare example of true PLG – Many founders and investors love to talk about PLG, but from my experience, true PLG is actually extremely rare. tl;dv is one of the very few companies actually nailing it; a simple value prop, a short time to value, and built-in product virality combined with one of the best growth engines I’ve seen, built on a combination of high-quality (and often very funny!) content, influencer marketing, and an ambassador program. 3. Another proof that constraints can bring focus – the team had to be extra resourceful as young, European founders that didn’t always have an easy time raising capital in a hyper-competitive category where their US peers were raising tens of millions at the peak of the COVID bubble. With less than $5m raised over the past 5 years, they managed to build a highly profitable, hyper-growth company. Very much looking forward to unpacking all that and more with Rapha, who also happens to be one of the nicest humans I know. The fact this is happening in my home country of Switzerland, where Rapha studied (👋🏼 ETH Zürich), only makes it more special for both of us. Kudos to Max, Grégory, Anton and the entire START Global team for bringing us together and building one of the best tech conferences in Europe!
