We're proud to play a key role in maintaining the safety and flow of Lewes Bonfire Night, an event famed for its torch-lit processions, striking effigies and spectacular fireworks. However, this event also brings serious overcrowding concerns, with Sussex Police urging non-locals to avoid travelling to the town due to anticipated crowd density. With over 200 injuries reported in the past five years, it's vital we work together to keep everyone safe. Road closures, crowd management and public safety measures are being implemented and visitors are encouraged to consider alternative ways to enjoy the night, such as watching the event livestream on Rocket FM. ✨ Countdown to Lewes Bonfire Night! ✨ Our team gathered for an energising senior supervisors briefing last night as excitement builds for this historic event, set for 5 November! It was fantastic to see so many dedicated, smiley faces as we went over ops plans, logistics and shared insights to ensure a safe, smooth experience for everyone attending. These pre-briefing sessions are invaluable, allowing us to talk and listen to our team while refining our approach ahead of the event. Lewes Bonfire Night is so much more than just a celebration – it honours the 17 Protestant martyrs who stood resolute in the face of adversity and commemorates the foiling of the Gunpowder Plot of 1605. It’s a powerful fusion of remembrance, history and community spirit. We're proud to be part of it!
