🌟 Exciting News! 🌟 I’m delighted to share that our latest article, “parkrun Practice: More than a Run in a Park”, has just been published! 🎉 Thank you for Dr Shahnaz Hassan & Dr Chloe Reynolds for their hard work putting this together. In this piece, I explore the incredible journey of parkrun—a movement that started in 2004 with just 13 participants in London and has since grown to a worldwide phenomenon: >2,000 parkruns plus 462 junior parkruns, 296,000 parkrunners plus 23,000 junior parkrunners, and 41,000 volunteers in total,. 🌍🏃♂️🏃♀️ The article covers: ✅ The inclusive ethos of parkrun, welcoming everyone from walkers to seasoned runners. ✅ The vital role of volunteers in creating a supportive and friendly environment. ✅ The impact of the RCGP parkrun practice initiative, which helps GP practices integrate parkrun into their approach to community wellness and physical activity. parkrun is more than just a run; it’s about building connections, fostering community spirit, and enhancing both mental and physical health. 🌟🏅 I also delve into how GP practices can benefit from this initiative, improving patient health, staff morale, and community engagement. Read the full article below. I’d love to hear your thoughts on how community initiatives like parkrun can drive positive change in healthcare and beyond! Let’s continue running towards better health together! 🏅💪 #Parkrun #HealthAndWellbeing #Community #GPPractice #PhysicalActivity #SocialPrescribing #HealthcareInnovation
