MARKING NEURODIVERSITY CELEBRATION WEEK 🌟   With one in seven people in the UK identifying as neurodivergent, this #NeurodiversityCelebrationWeek is an opportunity to reflect on how we can be an inclusive workplace, empower the next generation of diverse talent and nurture the communities that make our destinations thrive.   Sharlene John, our Head of DE&I, Recruitment and Onboarding, shares with Drapers the steps we’re taking at Selfridges to support our neurodivergent customers and team members.   We launched our weekly Quiet Hour in 2022, a dedicated time where we lower music and switch off screens to create a calmer, more subdued environment in our stores and offices. This year during #NeurodiversityCelebrationWeek, we’ve extended Quiet Hour to take place across all our stores every weekday from 10am to 11am, and we will continue this on a permanent basis in our Manchester and Birmingham stores.   Driven by our internal Thinking Differently community, we also hosted a Chat For Change event for our team members this week, where we uncovered the different layers of neurodiversity and discussed how to be a more inclusive leader with Tania Martin, neurodiversity consultant and founder of consultancy PegSquared.   Read more from Sharlene on Drapers here: https://lnkd.in/eEXV2S6x
