Yesterday, we popped across the road to join the Innovation Expo at Keele University as part of The Shaping the Future Business Festival – and what a great event it was! It was great to catch up with some incredible businesses (now our neighbours) and explore the innovation and collaboration happening right on our doorstep. From inspiring conversations to exciting new opportunities, it’s amazing to see the energy and creativity within this thriving business community. Something is changing . . . 🗓 Starting 1 April 2025 for corporation tax and 6 April 2025 for income tax, double cab pick-up trucks with a payload of 1 tonne or more will be treated as cars for certain tax purposes. Key Points to Note: 👉 Vehicles like the Ford Ranger (with over 1-tonne payloads) will now face changes in capital allowances, benefits in kind, and deductions from business profits. 👉 Businesses that purchase, lease, or order these vehicles before 6 April 2025 can continue under the current system until the earlier of their lease ending, disposal of the vehicle, or 5 April 2029 (income tax and benefit in kind purposes only).
