📣CONTRACT ANNOUNCEMENT:  We have been awarded a new four-year, $320m (£250m) contract by the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) to manage the modernisation of the back-up electrical plant at the US Space Force’s Pituffik Space Base 🚀, in Greenland 🇬🇱. Mark Irwin, Group Chief Executive of Serco, said: “This contract award builds on Serco’s strong capabilities in systems design and installation, as well as our exemplary past performance on defence construction projects. We are delighted to have the opportunity to support this large, mission-critical upgrade project for the US Space Force and Army Corps of Engineers. 📣CONTRACT ANNOUNCEMENT: Serco to continue to provide vital engineering support for Royal Navy helicopters for further 12 months.   Serco has been awarded a contract extension to continue to provide engineering and airfield support services to the Royal Navy for a further 12 months.   Serco was originally awarded the contract for the provision of Aircraft Engineering Support and Airfield Services at Royal Naval Air Stations (RNAS) Yeovilton and Culdrose following a competitive tender process in July 2020, and this award will see Serco continue to provide the services until 31 March 2026. Commenting on the contract extension, Doug Umbers, Managing Director of Serco’s Defence business, said: “Our teams at RNAS Culdrose and Yeovilton make a real impact by providing critical engineering support to help keep the Royal Navy flying 365 days a year and we are delighted to have had this contract extended by a further 12 months.”    Serco employs almost 100 people across the two bases, including 22 apprentices and in the last four years 20 people have completed their apprenticeships. A further ten apprentices are being recruited to start working for Serco in January 2025.   https://lnkd.in/ecHgshnr   #ImpactABetterFuture

📣CONTRACT ANNOUNCEMENT: Serco awarded £31m contract extension to continue to provide support services at Royal Air Force (RAF) Brize Norton. Serco has been awarded a £31m two-year extension to its contract providing specialist support services at Royal Air Force (RAF) Brize Norton by the UK Ministry of Defence (MOD). Serco commenced the original three-year Brize Support Contract (BSC), which was awarded following a competitive process, in December 2021, delivering multi-activity logistical, engineering and airfield services. Serco has been working alongside the Royal Air Force at ‘Brize’, as it affectionately known for over 25 years. The contract employs over 380 people with over 160 being ex-Service personnel. Commenting on the contract extension, Doug Umbers, Managing Director of Serco’s UK defence business, said: “Serco is delighted to have the opportunity to continue to support the RAF at Brize for another two years. Our team at the airfield works closely with the RAF in a Whole Force Approach, and the contract allows the release of invaluable RAF personnel back to front line duties. Our team has been at Brize for over 25 years and has an intimate understanding of the critical role that the base plays for the UK Armed Forces, and will continue to make a positive impact on its future.” https://lnkd.in/eNmdKcZP #ImpactABetterFuture

📢CONTRACT ANNOUNCEMENT: Serco has been awarded a two-year extension with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) for the Restart Scheme contract worth £175m. We're thrilled to continue providing this life-changing service in West Central England and Wales. Since launching in 2021, we've been helping individuals through tailored support, equipping them with skills like CV writing, interview techniques, digital skills, confidence building, and much more. We couldn't do this alone, and we're grateful for our collaboration with our delivery partners, support organisations and 107 Jobcentre Plus offices. Together, we've managed to help over 20,000 individuals find sustainable employment.
