We have got that Friday feeling! We have filmed in some iconic places and some amazing historic properties. What better to combine our love for these things than the spot where this scene was shot at the Reform Club A lot of work goes into making things work in tight and historic spaces. The atmos needs to adhere to National Trust regulations, priceless artefacts need to be protected or moved (hence the matting on the carpet), there are also things that do not adhere to modern building regulations (like the balustrade height). We had a wild time working on this. Almost a different location every day. An 800m2 set build with 23 tonnes of suspended ceiling/lighting on a sound stage at Pinewood Group Limited (Shepperton specifically). It was -5 when filming outside and roasting hot when we filmed inside. The crew really bought into the safety culture which made everything work so smoothly. We got brought in really early during prep to ensure we had time to work out any kinks and keep those creative goals within reach. Thank you to Netflix for putting their faith in us. Stay safe. Today we have an SFX practical fire on one of our sets. We will be using a thermal imaging camera to ensure no parts of the set/probs gets too hot and also to help the fire watch team ensure that there is little/no residual temperature once the effect is over. We also have an explosive atmosphere tester which helps to check the gas is being burnt properly, that there are no leaks in the system and also that the canisters are fully turned off after use. Here’s how we helped it happen: ✅ Risk Assessment: Collaborated with SFX to determine the safest approach—smoke and lighting effects only. ✅ Permits & Precautions: Secured a smoke-only hot works permit from Pinewood Group Limited and isolated the fire alarms (with call points still active). ✅ Safety Briefing: Covered all protocols in the morning briefing with the crew and 1st AD. ✅ Monitoring & Visibility: Managed air quality, vented as needed, and provided additional lighting for a safe working environment.
