Democracy without women is no democracy at all. 👊 Yet the reality is deeply troubling: only 14% of heads of state are women, and less than 1% of global aid supports feminist grassroots movements. It’s time for change—but how do we make it happen? 🤔 Join us on October 9th at 4 PM UTC for our webinar, "From Margins to Majorities: Women's Rise to Political Power." This is the first in our series aimed at accelerating a fairer world, faster. 🌍✨ 💪 What You’ll Gain: • Insights into the barriers women face in politics. • Strategies from NGOs and grassroots organisations to fast-track women and marginalised voices into leadership. • Understanding the importance of investing in women and how feminist funders are overcoming challenges. • Insight into emerging trends in holistic support for women political leaders. 🔥 Meet Our Speakers: • Ayesha Gardiner, Associate Strategy Director, Shape History (Host) • Suyen Barahona Cuan, Executive Director, Women’s Political Leadership Fund • Irene M., Executive Director, Pollicy • Lindiwe Mazibuko, Founder and CEO, Futurelect; Former MP, South Africa 💡 Why Attend? Businesses are missing the point on sustainability. 🌍❌ After 2 days at B Lab UK's Louder than Words festival and Sustainability LIVE this week, here’s what the Shape History team learned: 🚫 Get Serious or Go Home: The message at both events was clear: sustainability isn’t optional. It’s time for businesses to step up, get real, and ditch the greenwashing. Half-hearted efforts won’t cut it. 🌍 Sustainability or Spin?: We loved hearing Deb Caldow (Ralls) and Dave Lütkenhaus from Diageo talk about how they're making it easier for consumers to choose better. Plus, Netflix sets a high bar by embedding sustainability into their culture—break those values, and there are real consequences. But let’s be honest: too many brands are still stuck in feel-good buzzwords with zero substance. Talk is cheap! 👥 People Over Profits: It’s not just about the planet—it’s about people. The most impactful companies are those genuinely committed to both social and environmental justice. Purpose-driven business isn’t a trend, it’s the future. If you're not lifting up communities while tackling sustainability, you're 👏missing 👏the 👏point.👏 🤝 Break Down Silos, Build Partnerships: Sustainability shouldn’t be stuck in a corner! Liverpool Football Club shared that teaming up with competitors can align sustainability with business goals. B Corp Festival showcased this perfectly, bringing together bold organisations to swap ideas and strategies. Smashing those silos drives real change—together! 🚀 Embrace the Journey: Sustainability is an evolving process. We don't need all the answers now, but we must start the journey. The game is constantly changing, and so should our approach. Communicate openly about your progress, challenges, and goals—without making unsubstantiated claims or staying silent. The time for half-measures is over! 🌟 Ready to get real about sustainability and how you talk about it? Young people can’t lead, they're too lazy.😴 …we beg to differ. And so do the 1.9 billion youth around the world who are ready to take charge and shape their future. Despite making up half of the global population, their voices are frequently left out of high-level discussions. The Youth Power Summit on September 21-22 in NYC, organised by our partner Fondation Botnar, aims to bridge this gap by bringing young leaders to the forefront and amplifying their voices in global decision-making. 🌍 This is one event you won’t want to miss! Make sure to grab your spot today ➡️ #YouthPowerSummit #YoungVoices #FutureLeaders
