About us
SheffCare is a registered charity, which operates principally in Sheffield, serving the needs of over 1000 older people. The company began operating as a not for profit company in 1994, when a number of care homes were transferred out of local authority ownership into the ownership of the company. The vision was to secure the provision of services and provide high quality care for older people in Sheffield at the lowest possible price. The charity has now been operating for 16 years and the vision remains the same. The needs, wishes and aspirations of our clients remain paramount and everything we do is focussed on improving the experiences of our service users.

Amazing work from the team Yorkshire Sport Foundation! A great example of partnership working with Sheffcare to support the elderly to move more and stay independent. Anyone interested in collaborating on this type of work get in touch with Rachael Weston Katy Fillingham
A thought provoking morning upskilling Care Workers from Sheffcare on the benefits of physical activity for the elderly, delivered by the amazing Katy Fillingham Lots of insightful discussions about how they can build on the fantastic work they are already doing, to support residents to move a little more in their everyday routines, whilst promoting independence and purpose. We look forward to building on this partnership and support staff to have the skills and resources to do more. If any partners are interested in helping out and delivering physical activity sessions within care settings please get in touch! There's a lot of appetite to enhance this work. Today was yet another fantastic day with the Sheffcare team! We had the absolute pleasure of taking the city nursery children to Valleywood Residential Home. It was wonderful to see the smiles and laughter shared between the children and residents. A massive thank you to the incredible Kathryn Rawling and her team for helping create these joyful moments. We're all looking forward to our next adventure together!

🎃💜 Knowle Hill 💜🎃 Trick or Treat! Who says it’s only the younger generation know how to celebrate Halloween? At Knowle Hill in Beighton our residents are already getting in the spirit for the spookiest night of the year. And they’ll be more than happy to greet young visitors on October 31 and to share some tricks and treats. “Our residents would love to see your little monsters, ghouls and ghosts on Thursday October 31 from 6pm,” said Knowle Hill manager Michelle Wright. “Halloween is something we all look forward to so don’t be scared to knock on our door and see if you get a trick or a treat.” #halloween #sheffield #carehome

It's Falls Prevention Week, a time dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of preventing falls, especially among older adults. Falls are one of the leading causes of injury, but many of them are preventable. To support this effort, the National Council on Aging has put together a fantastic video offering valuable tips on how to reduce the risk of falls. From making simple home modifications to improving balance and strength, their advice can make a big difference in staying safe and independent. Take a moment to watch and share it with those who could benefit! https://lnkd.in/e6qnjT4T

This was a fantastic event at the Advanced Wellbeing Research Centre (AWRC) and a reminder of the healthcare sector's strength and potential. As the sector continues to navigate significant obstacles, the following speakers highlighted that the future remains bright: • Steve Fergus provided a thoughtful reflection on the sector’s recent challenges and the progress that has been made despite them. • Richard Caborn’s overview of Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park showcased the incredible results that can arise from public and private sector collaboration. • Derek Bickerstaff MD FRCS presented how One Health Group’s innovative approach is reducing NHS waiting lists by delivering faster, local and expert care. • Toria Chan of STEPS Rehabilitation Ltd shared how her family business has worked incredibly hard to develop an amazing rehabilitation facility. • Claire Rintoul explained how Sheffcare adopts a person-centred approach to care with the aim of “everyone having a good day every day”. A special thanks to Sally-Ann Cain and the rest of the Barclays team for hosting such an insightful event.

“Ian you talk to 90 year old women like they’re lasses!” “Because they ARE lasses!” The same heart beats in us at 5, 25, 45, 75 and 95! The same heart… The same you. That’s why I NEVER talk to anyone like they’re OLD! Here are Yvonne, Michelle & Neil from SheffCare at Carefest in Sheffield on Monday having THE best time with folks who they care for. I moved their picnic table to be in front of the main stage and one of the ladies even won the DANCE OFF. This is proper CARE. Embracing the ridiculous! Living in the moment. Making tasks background noise to the joy of togetherness. Superb event Dan Archer and all at Visiting Angels to celebrate those who care and those who are cared for. Sheffcare be immensely proud of Yvonne, Michelle and lovely boyish Neil somehow claiming to be 71! This lovely bunch are what CARE is all about. Bless ya! NB Permissions granted for all individuals

This was going to be a video montage of CAREFEST 2024… I had it ALL planned out… interviews… Performances… Filled with footage of people singing, dancing, eating, drinking with all generations coming together to celebrate invaluable care professionals. BUT… Then something happened… CAREFEST happened… Hosting an event for 6 hours happened… Act after act… Performance after performance… Loads of audience participation and laughter… So my phone stayed snugly in my pocket. I was busy having too much fun and giving everyone a wonderful day. So this is the BEFORE and the AFTER with no evidence of the bit in between… Like 2 slices of bread with NOWT in between! Sometimes we DON’T need a phone out to PROVE something happened. Occasionally just BE somewhere… ENJOY what’s happening there and then… What a gorgeous day we all had! Thanks to EVERYONE involved! We made a lot of people VERY happy. See ya next year! Dan Archer Sana Singh Visiting Angels PS special shout out to the lovely team from Sheffcare who brought some of the folks they care for out for the day. They epitomised EVERYTHING that I love about care. And I bet two of their ladies never thought they’d be involved in a dance off to 90s dance classic ‘GONNA MAKE YOU SWEAT’ with one winning!!!!

What better way to end the week than with a great client review? 🌟 "Bensons have serviced our M&E equipment within the plant rooms for almost a year and in addition they are our 24hr point of contact in case of emergencies within our care homes; the emergency call out service is essential to us, given the vulnerability of our residents. This they have delivered in a timely and professional manner, I would not hesitate to recommend Bensons." Thank you so much to everyone who supported CareFest 2024. Kathy Markwick, Laura Platts and Sana Singh were the leaders responsible for bringing this event to life. All I had to do was turn up and fanboy over 80's pop legend and Eurovision star Sonia. Sonia's number 1 record was "you'll never stop me from loving you" (go on admit it you're singing along in your head now right?) We couldn't have been happier to welcome her to the stage to share love for everyone working in health and social care. Thank you to everyone who came along and donated prizes for the raffle and helped raise so much money for Paces and Sheffield Childrens Hospital Charity. It was great to see people attending from Sheffcare, Joshs Care Company, Abbey Total Care Group Limited, Ccms-Child Care Management Services, Exemplar Health Care, ST PHILIPS CARE LIMITED, Sheffield City Council, Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Bluebird Care Sheffield, Crossroads Care. #care #socialcare #carers #appreciation #workforce #celebration #festival #joy #freefood #franchising #business #teamwork #strongertogether #thankyou
