Should Central Banks Care About Text Mining? That's the question that Banque de France have been asking. To help answer the question, they have cited a paper written by Sheffield Business School Senior Lecturer Drew Woodhouse. "Being cited in the policy work of Banque de France (the central bank of France) is quite a big achievement. It's great to be recognised in central banking policy making and thinking." The full policy work is available here WP950.pdf (banque-france.fr) #Finance #Economics #Economy #TextMining

We are very pleased with the recently published Posgraduate Taught Experience Survey (PTES) results for our Course - MSc Human Resources and Organisational Development (HROD). The results shows a 98% overall satisfaction among our students on the course, indicating a 6% increase from the previous year's result. This wouldn't have been possible without the brilliant work of our module leaders and module teams, including the support from the leadership team of the department, business school and University, course administrators and guest speakers to ensure that our students have the best learning experience. To our wonderful students, this is a result of your hard work, resilience and diligence, ensuring that you record remarkable progress in your studies, even as you prepare to doff your graduation hats come November. To all prospective MSc HROD students, we look forward to receiving you in September and work together in shaping your learning experiences for a brighter future 😉 Sheffield Business School Sheffield Hallam University

Collaboration is vital to retaining graduate talent in Yorkshire Key figures from the county’s 12 universities, local councils, employers and organisations invested in graduate employment came together to discuss how they can collectively support graduates to stay and thrive in Yorkshire. Professor Liz Mossop, Vice-Chancellor of Sheffield Hallam University, said: “Yorkshire is diverse and vibrant region with huge potential. Forging a joined-up, collaborative approach to retaining the regions’ ready supply of highly skilled graduates is key to driving innovation and enterprise and absolutely critical to stimulate economic growth across our cities and towns. “Success is utterly reliant on strong partnership working, and I was delighted to welcome business, civic and education leaders from across the region to discuss the key challenges and opportunities employers and graduates face. The sense of shared purpose was tangible, and I look forward to developing this determined coalition to ensure our graduates stay and thrive in Yorkshire.” Read the full story below https://lnkd.in/ecCAWX-J

Why is an MBA relevant today and how might it evolve? Senior Lecturer and Global MBA Lead Dr Cindy Wang-Cowham shares their thoughts with EFMD Global "In my view, having business acumen is important to everyone. The ideology helps one understand how the world is connected and how business is run. An MBA provides a holistic view on all aspects of business operation, marketing, people, logistics, strategies, and more. It enables a world view when making important strategic decisions." Does baby-led weaning make a nutritional difference vs spoon-feeding? Recently published US-led research suggests there is little-to-no difference between the two. This contradicts studies in the UK which showed reduced energy intakes in baby-led weaning. Senior Lecturer in Nutrition, Jo Pearce, has contributed to an article in New Scientist: “We need more research into baby-led weaning to see if the approach leads to positive health outcomes in babies who follow this style of complementary feeding, and to understand if these outcomes are really down to baby-led weaning or the socioeconomic status of parents who are more likely to follow this style of weaning,” Read the full article below. https://lnkd.in/edm37pnZ
