Now, it's set for an amazing transformation into a vibrant, mixed-use space thanks to Urban Splash and Sheffield City Council. Sheffield is entering a new era, with the Heart of the City being crowned 'Outstanding Development of the Year' at the Insider Media South Yorkshire Property Dinner 2024 🎉 The Heart of the City project has brought vibrant spaces to life around The Moor, Fargate and the Devonshire Quarter. Headed by the Sheffield City Council and its strategic development partner, Queensberry , the project has created new retail areas, market-leading offices, homes, bars, and cafés. Exciting news for Sheffield as the Attercliffe Development project promises to breathe new life into our city 🎉 Thank you to Citu and Sheffield City Council for showcasing this brilliant initiative at Domo yesterday. In the first phase, the project will introduce 362 new homes, commercial spaces, and public areas, including a new footbridge over the canal to create a vibrant, sustainable community that will bring significant benefits to Attercliffe and Darnall. At the heart of this development is a commitment to sustainability and innovation. The homes will be equipped with industry-leading technology, including solar panels and heat sink pumps, offering residents zero-cost energy bills. This focus on eco-friendly solutions extends to the sourcing of materials, with a concerted effort to reduce carbon emissions throughout the construction process. The project's emphasis on brownfield site development showcases a responsible approach to urban expansion, preserving green spaces while revitalising previously developed areas. The site's layout has been carefully considered to prioritise community needs, accessibility, and infrastructure. Soho Yard is looking brilliant as it draws close to completion in December. This fantastic development is part of West Bar’s exciting £300 million regeneration scheme, which will include 650K sq ft of office space, 368 residential units, a 1m sq ft regeneration scheme and the largest floor plates in Sheffield! Limited tickets are remaining for our Attercliffe Waterside event, taking place next Wednesday 25th September at Domo in Little Kelham. At the event we will be joined by the Citu team who will give an insight into how they plan to deliver around 1,000 new homes as part of one of the most transformational schemes the City has seen. Since our inception in 2017, the S-PA has driven investment, opportunity, and prosperity, transforming Sheffield into a vibrant place for everyone who lives, works, and socialises in the city. Our outgoing chair, Martin McKervey, has been exceptional in his role and has served as the board’s central point of contact for official communication with us, the Priority Groups and S-PA members. We look forward to welcoming our next chair to continue this dedication to lead the board through its next phase of growth and development, building networks and partnerships. This voluntary role requires one to two days of commitment per month for a term of three years and is open to all interested parties. The regeneration of Castlegate has gained momentum recently, and we are now well into the delivery of the Gateway to Sheffield Leveling Up Fund project, led by the Castlegate Area Board and the Castlegate Partnership. Through the project, a new park is currently being constructed, which will include Sheffield Castle’s archaeology, views of the River Sheaf, plus a dedicated event space. In recognition of this, the Castlegate Festival is returning to Sheffield this weekend on Saturday the 14th and Sunday the 15th of September. Celebrating heritage, arts and music, and the markets of Sheffield, including Pollen and Quayside Markets, the eighth edition of the Castlegate Festival will feature a range of family-friendly activities, a one-day music festival, and other exciting events around the area. The event is funded by Sheffield City Council, Sheffield BID, and City Ward Councillors, and we hope everyone, including our S-PA members can come along. The future of education is looking bright at Hallam 🎓 One of three new buildings boasting world-class facilities is the new Langsett building. These developments include 400 square metres of new green space and will be for the Sheffield Hallam University School of Law, Social Sciences and Arts courses, as well as the Sheffield Business School. The handover of the first blocks is now approaching, with Langsett set to become the home of their Business School and the Centre for Regional Economic and Social Research.
