We’re dedicated to supporting young carers and young people affected by drug and alcohol issues in their family. We believe it’s the right of every young carer to be recognised in their role and have the same opportunities and life chances as other children and young people of a similar age. We are a local charity offering help and support to young people and their families across Sheffield. We are advocates for young carers rights and we want their voice and opinions to be heard.

On Tuesday, we celebrated 27 years as an organisation in style, with an extremely powerful showcase event 🤩 We had it all - guest speakers, face painters, a choir, a magician, a massage therapist, a fantastic photo booth, as well as a room full of young people, families, funders, partners, professionals and trustees to join us in celebrating 🎉 A huge shoutout has to go to our Action Group for being amazing MC's, our Family Project members for their extremely moving speeches and to our former members Jess and Tom for sharing their stories 🙌 We also had superb speeches from Sheffield City Council CEO Kate Josephs, SYC Patron and former MP Paul Blomfield, Darshana Dholakia from Carers Trust, Paul Fenton from the Paul Hamlyn Foundation and SYC trustee Sara Rehman 👏 A massive thank you again to everybody who contributed to the event, as well as everyone who attended - we can't thank you enough for coming to celebrate with us and helping to make the event so special 💙 #SYC27 #Sheffield #YoungCarers #AGM #Celebration #SheffieldIsSuper

As well as electing officers and discussing priorities for the APPG, young carers will be sharing the insights from our recent Young Carers and Education report.
