Congratulations to Sam Bazini and Eoin Macleod, CEO and Managing Director respectively of Shore Capital’s client Warpaint London PLC, who were winners of the Entrepreneur of the Year Award at the AIM Awards 2024.   The business was also nominated for the Growth Business and Company of the Year Awards which is just recognition of an outstanding year for the Company.   Shore Capital has advised Warpaint since its 2016 IPO with Vice-Chairman Clive Black adding: “We are delighted to see Sam & Eoin win the AIM Awards ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’. Renewables Resurgence?   Shore Capital hosted our latest Investment Funds conference at the Royal Society of Chemistry yesterday with speakers from across the renewable energy sector.   External guest speakers included: Ross Driver from Foresight Solar Fund (FSFL) David Bird from Octopus Investments, manager of Octopus Renewable Infrastructure Trust Shore Capital client guest speakers included: John-Michael Cheshire and Dr Alex O'Cinneide from Gore Street Capital, manager of Gore Street Energy Storage Fund Anders Hauch and Kwame Parker from Frontier Energy | Africa.   Ca.100 attendees took the opportunity to hear from our speakers and network with fellow investment professionals against the backdrop of Burlington House in central London.   Thank you to our speakers and everyone who attended a great event.

Shore Capital had the privilege of attending the inaugural High Growth 50 report launch by MC2 on Monday at the London Stock Exchange, alongside distinguished business leaders from across the North of England.    The High Growth 50 report highlights the lower mid-market businesses that are making a substantial contribution to the Northern economy, showcasing their remarkable growth and resilience.   Our team had the opportunity to network, participate in a roundtable discussion and witness the market close ceremony at the LSE. Hearing from Julia Hoggett, CEO of the LSE, was particularly motivating as we celebrated the diverse range of businesses delivering impressive growth represented in the report - from tech and financial services to manufacturing and leisure. Shore Capital is delighted to have acted as Nomad and Joint Bookrunner to Mpac Group plc on its transformational €56m acquisition of CSi palletising and associated placing which has raised £29m. Shore Capital is also acting for Mpac on its £1m retail offer via the Bookbuild platform. The placing was significantly oversubscribed and was strongly supported by both existing and a large number of new institutional investors. Mpac, a global leader in high-speed packaging and automation solutions, intends to use the placing funds to partly fund the acquisition of CSi Palletising, a leading provider of end-of-line automation and palletising solutions. Mpac has had a transformational few weeks, also acquiring BCA - Automation & Robotics for $17m and SIGA Vision (now part of Mpac Group). We look forward to continuing to assist and support the enlarged Mpac Group as it begins this exciting next stage in its growth journey.

A team of six Shore Capital colleagues completed the 2024 Cancer Research UK (CRUK) Shine Night Walk over the weekend. Well done team! This was the fourth time our colleagues have participated in the 21km challenge with the team finishing the walk in 4hr 25min and having fun along the way (despite the rain!!!). Shore Capital Vice Chairman, Clive Black, has now ran the six half-marathons he promised since summer 2023 to raise money for the Integrated Education Fund (IEF) in Northern Ireland following the completion of the Causeway Coast Extreme half-marathon last weekend. That run took 3H 05M and was undoubtedly the most knackering, following Belfast, Cork, Derry-Londonderry, Royal Hillsborough & Strabane-Lifford. He apologies for the gap between Hillsborough last autumn and the Causeway Coast but a bad Achilles slowed him down even more than his usual snail pace! In Clive’s words, the IEF “believes that bringing the next generations of people together anywhere is more of a good thing than not. Having gone to school in Northern Ireland, I only really met ‘the other side’ when I went to Queen’s in Belfast, and you know what, they were more than all right.   People’s values, cultures, and ways of doing are to be respected, but maybe we can find better ways to centre on respect, balance, safety, and fun?   I see integrated schools in Northern Ireland as part of a gradual process to bring folks together in a beautiful part of these Isles. Helping to support these goals is the reason behind my ever-decelerating plodding.   I got a good look at the magnificent Causeway Coast last Saturday, gosh is it hilly, and I warmly appreciate all the support, so sorry it took me so long to complete the task; age is not kind for the injured!” If you would like to support Clive, please donate here: https://lnkd.in/eN-56Y3K

The net proceeds of the placing and retail offer will be used to fund, in part, the cash component of the consideration payable pursuant to a possible cash and share offer for Capital & Regional plc by NewRiver. Shore Capital has acted as joint corporate broker to NewRiver, a real estate investment trust, since August 2021 and we look forward to continuing to support its growth ambitions.
