    🚧 Old Smithfield Road and North Gate, Bridgnorth are to be resurfaced from Mon 30 Sep to Sat 5 Oct, from 8pm to 6am each day - with the road closed during these times. ⬆️ A signed diversion will be place. Depending on their vehicle type, road users may be able to choose an alternative diversion route. 🚗 Access for properties and businesses within the closure will be maintained when safe to do so.

    🚧 Raven Meadows in Shrewsbury will be closed from 12am Monday to 6am Thursday next week, while two footbridges are removed as part of ongoing demolition work, namely: ▶️ The bridge from the former Riverside shopping centre to the multi-storey car park/The Darwin shopping centre (see photo). ▶️ The bridge from the former Riverside Centre to the former Pride Hill Centre, near Roushill. ⚠️ During the closure the multi-storey car park, bus station and The Darwin will remain open. 🚗 Entry to the car park will change as cars will be diverted down Meadow Place and Raven Meadows will become two-way. Drivers should follow the diversion signs to the car park. The car park will close at 10pm instead of midnight on Monday and Tuesday.

    🎉 Exciting News! 🎉 We're thrilled to announce that arts and cultural organisations across Shropshire have received over £115,000 in grants from Vibrant Shropshire: a Cultural Compact. The funding from the Arts Council England and UK Shared Prosperity Fund, will help deliver amazing cultural projects throughout Shropshire that break down barriers to participation, improve health, and engage young people. Highlights include: 🔹 Creative workshops and exhibitions supporting mental health 🔹 Mass participation arts projects for rural communities 🔹 Inclusive workshops for the Special Educational Needs and Disability community 🔹 School-based drama activities in areas with high levels of deprivation 🔹 Wellbeing and yoga workshops in isolated rural areas 🔹 Art and nature activities for young people impacted by cancer And so much more! A special shout out to the Rajasthan Heritage Brass Band, who will be bringing a multicultural celebration to the Ginger & Spice Festival in Market Drayton on 28 September 2024. 🎺🎶 We couldn't be prouder of all the incredible initiatives taking place. Together making Shropshire, a vibrant and culturally rich place for everyone.     Our Enable Supported Employment Service is marking it's 30th anniversary with a series of events at the Darwin Shopping Centre in Shrewsbury this September. The free events will run from 10am to 5pm and are open to businesses and those who wish to find out more on what support is on offer to access training and employment opportunities. Events include: ➡️ Saturday 14th September – Training Provider Roadshow – find out about local training options for yourself or your business and how Enable can help you access them. ➡️ Wednesday 25th September – Employers Jobs Fair – chat with local employers and charities and get advice and opportunities for different sectors and roles. Enable has been helping people with disabilities and mental health needs to find and keep meaningful jobs since 1994. The organisation has grown and diversified over the years, offering a range of services such as bespoke training, jobs fairs, and innovative programmes funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF).     👷 The A458 Welshpool Road in Shrewsbury is to be resurfaced from 14 Oct to 1 Nov - from Clayton Way roundabout to the A5. ⬅️ During the work the road will be closed and a signed diversion in place. Depending on vehicle type drivers may be able to use an alternative route. ✔️ Access to properties and businesses within the closure will be maintained when safe to do so . ✔️ Access to the park and ride will be maintained at all times. ✔️ Buses and emergency vehicles will be allowed through when safe to do so.
