Following unprecedented demand from councils over the last twelve months we're pleased to share a new package designed specifically for local authorities which includes a 90-day free trial. "ShuttleID is proving to be a real game changer in the way we manage the home-to-school transport network in Northumberland. The system has enabled us to transition from a point where we had little or no data on travel permit checks or usage, to a point where we now have access to extensive data streams which we can use to improve the delivery of the service and achieve cost savings. This has transformed how drivers manage access onto vehicles and has also had a positive impact on student behaviour.” “Whilst we have to date only a limited rollout of the ShuttleID product, it is clear that it is already offering us a fantastic solution in terms of the management and tracking of school transport. BRICKETS PLEASE! Announcing the arrival of brick phone-compatible bus tickets on the ShuttleID platform. This innovation enables passengers to use bus tickets in a printed format, on smartphones, and now on brick phones. The development follows increasing concern over the impact of smartphones and social media on children’s education and behaviour. A trend is emerging: • UK’s Commons Education Committee recommendation to consider banning smartphones for u16s. • UK’s largest mobile network provider (EE) recommending brick phones for u11s. • Schools recommend and even provision brick phones to their students in September. • A parent pact reaching signatures from families across 8,000 schools agreeing to delay smartphones until year 9. Brick phones being a recommended alternative. The school commute is one area where smartphones may have previously been viewed as essential. In support of parents that don’t want to give their child a smartphone yet, this development will ensure that their children can conveniently use a brick phone to board their school bus and is not at any disadvantage. The addition extends the existing option to use a printed pass. The Brickets solution will be showcased alongside our full range of ticketing services at the EURO BUS EXPO on 12-14 November.
