UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer has unveiled an ambitious climate target at COP29: an 81% reduction in emissions by 2035 from 1990 levels. While the UK Climate Change Committee highlights that this goal likely requires major lifestyle adjustments - such as phasing out petrol and diesel cars and reducing meat consumption - Starmer emphasised a different approach. His focus is on making greener living accessible through investments in clean technology and transport, rather than imposing behavioural changes.
