With SIS Heat 🆚 Without SIS Heat. Two pitches provide a perfect side-by-side comparison of the newly installed SIS Heat undersoil heating and an unheated pitch at Galatasaray SK training facility. After just a few days of operation, the grounds teams at the Turkish training facility have been delighted with the clear and significant difference their recently constructed pitch is making. On the heated pitch, which benefits from the SIS Heat system, the surface remains almost snow-free and fully playable, even in the most challenging winter conditions. The system ensures a consistent ground temperature, promoting stronger turf growth and providing a stable, reliable surface for both training and competitive play. In contrast, the unheated pitch is completely covered in snow, which would have ultimately led to fixture or training cancellations had it not been for SIS Heat. Beyond the immediate impact of snow, the pitch is now protected from frozen ground which hinders turf recovery and root development. Last year, in partnership with fellow B Corp Treeapp, we planted 4,510 trees, bringing our total to 10,222 trees since our collaboration began. This impact translates to: 🌳 3 hectares of reforested land 🌫️ 491 tonnes of CO₂e absorbed over their lifetime 🌍 15 countries supported, creating 45 workdays for local communities Our reforestation efforts span multiple continents, with key initiatives including: 🐦🐒 Creating habitats for 166 critically endangered species in Madagascar 🌊 Mangrove planting to restore coral reefs in Indonesia 🌲 Woodland restoration in the United Kingdom 🏫 Educational programs with 20 schools to help restore the Usambara Forest in Tanzania This year, we will continue our commitment by planting one tree per employee every month, totaling over 500 trees planted each month. Thornes Park Athletics Stadium upgrades athletics track 🏃 As part of Wakefield Council's ongoing investment in high-quality, accessible facilities, the council commissioned the refurbishment of the existing track and field facility at Thornes Park Athletic Stadium. SIS Pitches were tasked with stripping the existing track and equipment and replacing it with a eight-lane texturised spray system track. Key features required were hammer cage, shot put, long jump, high jump, pole vault, javelin, steeplechase, as well as a ten-lane 100m sprint track. The new athletics facility will serve both the public and groups such as Wakefield Harriers and Wakefield Triathlon Club, with over 3,000 people having used the facility since its opening in September.
