Video - Effingham Junction Site Visit and Site Assist Firstly, a shout out to those who went on camera, all first cuts, speaking from the heart and discussing a subject that is important to them. The purpose of the visit was to take Luke Quinn from SiteAssist to site and show the team how the platform works in practice. A great rollout in the business that impressed the site team. Luke Quinn explains what SiteAssist is all about on video. A note to HS&E professionals (I have tagged a few) and Industry colleagues. A very rare! Rubber stamp from me. Site Assist is worth a look; it has excellent traceability and an end-to-end permitting process, plus many other potential benefits. It tackles the problems we can have at times with the current industry paper processes, accountability, quality and recording of permits. The platform takes it to another level. This could be a game-changer! Year to date, 14 sites completed. No videos were created from last week's two-night site visits on HS1 and at Colchester. This was due to the need to use the precious time to have open conversations with the teams without impacting their planned work. We were joined at Effingham and had a chance to hear from our great FD, Iain Morgan. Iain completely gets visible leadership and shares his reflections. Iain has supported every H&S initiative we have run; this one is no exception. It is great to hear from the newly appointed Head of HS&E, Darren Kitchener. In two months, Darren’s impact on operational delivery teams in the Rail Plant has been brilliant and recognised. We got to speak with one of our Safety Leaders, Nathan Charman. Who explains his role as a Safety Leader and part of the Safety Leader Programme. Our host, MPV Maintenance Manager Jason Durrant, discusses safety and the 4 Golden Rules. #safety #leadership #bootsontheground #balfourbeatty #permits #visit #railway #share #healthandsafety #mpv #maintenance #effingham #rail #railindustry #iosh Balfour Beatty plc Network Rail, Rupert Lown, Kevin Kimble (BA Hons, CertIOSH, AIEMA), Andrea Dolphin, Kari Sprostranova, Lee Hewitt, Paul Taylor FIIRSM,Stuart Webster-Spriggs, Martin Jobling, Paul Taylor, Nick Millington MBE, Colin Clifton, Carole Bardell-Wise CMIOSH, Phill Ross, Lawrence Ling
