A fantastic first few days touring Florida engaging with local life sciences firms and economic development agencies. Our president of US operations Mark Sacaris had the pleasure of speaking with Niall Mackenzie CBE, the UK’s HM Trade Commissioner for North America, based at the British Consulate General in New York City. Mr Mackenzie leads a cross-USA and Canada team to deliver new trade and investment opportunities across all economic sectors by helping UK firms export to and enter the market and support US and Canadian firms to invest into UK. https://lnkd.in/ejh6WNr8

Sky Medical develops bioelectronic devices to treat a wide range of acute and chronic circulatory conditions.
About us
Sky Medical develops bioelectronic devices integrated with OnPulse neuromodulation technology to prevent and treat a wide range of acute and chronic circulatory conditions (e.g. to prevent venous thromboembolism (VTE), to prevention and reduction of edema after surgery, to heal venous and arterial leg ulcers as well as chronic wounds, and speed-up recovery time for high-performance athletes. After conducting further clinical research, OnPulse is now being used in hospitals and in community care centers to accelerate patient recovery after surgery and to accelerate healing of chronic venous and diabetic ulcers. Devices are also used by Olympic and USA professional athletes such as the US Olympic Hockey team and NFL, MLS, MLB, NBA, D1 NCAA teams, and NHL clubs to accelerate post training and post-match recovery. Teams include but are not limited to AC Milan, Chelsea, West Ham, Everton football teams, Golden State Warriors, New England Patriots and the San Francisco 49ers. By stimulating the peroneal nerve using neuromodulation, we believe we can create a natural effect within the body that will improve function and quality of life for patients.

We are delighted to be one of twenty-three innovative UK health and life sciences companies crisscrossing Florida, from Orlando to Miami, between September 9–13, to learn first-hand about the Sunshine State’s dynamic economic ecosystem. Through this trade delegation we will engage with local life sciences firms and economic development agencies to discuss potential UK-US collaborations and gain insight on expanding our high-quality offerings into the region and the US market. The trade delegation is hosted by the UK’s Department for Business and Trade (DBT) in collaboration with OCO Global and the British Consulate-General in Miami. His Majesty’s Trade Commissioner (Ambassador) for North America, Mr. Niall Mackenzie CBE, will join the group in Tampa. https://lnkd.in/ejh6WNr8

Did you know❓ • Oedema and pain following lower limb orthopaedic surgery are closely interlinked phenomena that significantly impact patient recovery (Wickline et al., 2023). • Oedema exerts pressure on surrounding tissues and nerve endings, amplifying pain through mechanical and chemical stimulation of nociceptors (Woolf, 2011). • Effective management of post-surgical oedema is therefore crucial to mitigate pain and enhance functional recovery (Moore et al., 2015).
