Great news from the Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity (C2PA) today! 🎉 Meta joins the likes of Google, OpenAI, Truepic and Publicis Groupe as a steering committee member of the C2PA. This follows an announcement earlier this year that the company would support Content Credentials as part of a broader goal to help online users identify and label AI-generated content posted on its platforms. #contentcredentials #meta #contentprovenance

Donald Trump has come under fire for sharing AI-generated images on social media that appear to show singer Taylor Swift endorsing him in the upcoming presidential election. This comes just a day after he shared another AI-generated image depicting Kamala Harris speaking at a communist rally. While such images are often shared on social media in jest or for satire, they can have real-world consequences when shared by political figures – especially ahead of elections. ✔ As AI tools are increasingly used for disinformation, the need for technologies that can accurately label this kind of content becomes more apparent. 🛑 Content Credentials, from the Content Authenticity Initiative, is one such tool, and the technology that underpins it is being rapidly adopted by publishers, social media platforms, and others.
