"Keyword targeting is past its peak" -- Founder & CEO James Taylor appeared on stage for Particular Audience at SMG and Path to Purchase Institute's #RetailMediaSummitUK last week. PMAX, Meta, and every major internet advertising ecosystem has moved beyond manual targeting. Advertisers expect a ~let AI do it~ option. Algorithms influence who we talk to, what we buy, where we go, and who we marry. Unshackling Retail Media from manual settings and human approvals is what is unlocking the next phase of growth. Particular Audience is here for it. Terrific debate between Nick from Qsic, Babs from PubMatic and Taylor from Clinch, hosted by Jessie Bove Dowd and Emma Dean -- concluding unanimously that while channel mix will shift, there is definitely no bubble in Retail Media. It's been a week since we wrapped our second annual #RetailMediaSummitUK event in London, hosted with our friends at SMG, and we're still basking in the excitement from that day! It was amazing to see so many leaders in #retailmedia together under one roof as we tackled the real issues challenging our industry with "The Great Retail Media Debate." On my end, I had so much fun interviewing some of the industry's brightest minds on stage, digging into topics like in-store measurement and privacy, full-funnel campaigns and whether the retail media bubble is about to burst (don't worry, we decided it's not!). A BIG thank you to all my panelists (Ollie Shayer, Jonathan Dunkley, Mandy Bobrowski, Michele Dainty, Nick Larkins, James Taylor, Babs Kehinde and Taylor West), fireside chat guest Chris Riegel (who kindly obliged to going off script more than once), co-moderator Emma Dean and co-emcee Sean Crawford. It was also incredible to see Cyndi Loza on stage with Fiona Blades and Katie Streeter Hurle as they unveiled the findings from our latest proprietary research collab! Not to mention the opening keynote chat with Samuel Knights and Jessica Myers, and standout sessions from so many other iconic industry players. And, RMS UK would not have been possible without some serious magic from Bethany Gerrard, Georgina O'Grady and Archie Hamilton. The jam-packed day of sessions, discussions and networking left us all invigorated for this next phase of commerce. It also left us feeling immensely proud of what our teams at the Path to Purchase Institute and SMG accomplished in hosting this sold-out event. There have been a few pinch me moments on this journey with SMG but last week was a big one... To see Retail Media Summit go from just an idea over a year ago to the incredible event the team pulled off last week gives me enormous pride in what the teams at SMG and Path to Purchase Institute can achieve and to think of all those incredible industry leaders coming together at our event is just mind blowing. And then on top of that, to see our new brand come to life publicly for the first time was quite a moment. You never know how people will react to your first 'outing' but I was so happy with all the feedback we received.
