We've received some lovely feedback about our 1:1 relaxation sessions, facilitated by Cat, our trauma-informed yoga practitioner 🥰 It's lovely to hear that Snowdrop's Complementary Therapies are making a difference and supporting our clients on their journeys towards recovery.

Fantastic to be part of the IMSA model development alongside Hope for Justice and Slave-Free Alliance and the British Red Cross, and great to see the project moving forwards 👏
Hope for Justice, British Red Cross and The Snowdrop Project are preparing to pilot the Independent Modern Slavery Advocate® (IMSA) model across the UK. The aim of the IMSA model is to ensure that all survivors of modern slavery and human trafficking have access to a trained independent advocate. At the link, we share recent updates about the project, including the development of a new IMSA qualification, the role of our first co-opted board member, SOHTIS, and welcoming Bethan Hunt, IMSA Model Development Manager, who is taking forward this next phase as the partners build the infrastructure to enable delivery of the multi-year pilot. As part of this, IMSAs would be hosted at a range of organisations across the UK and the model would be rigorously tested in a range of settings, all in preparation for a national roll-out. Find out more at the link.

A group of Snowdrop clients who have been attending our weekly sewing class have been putting their new skills into action with these amazing cushion designs! 🧵 It's been amazing to see the designs they've made and the skills they've picked up, in addition to the connections made and friendships formed. One more group of clients will complete the sewing course before the end of the year, and we can't wait to see what they make!

In exactly one month, Snowdrop will be taking part in the Big Give Christmas Challenge! The Big Give is a match funding campaign where, for one week only, all donations will be doubled! This means that any amount you give will have double the impact. This Christmas, we're aiming to raise £5000 for survivors of modern slavery and their families, giving them the chance to recover from their pasts and rebuild their futures. Find out more about The Big Give 2024, and how your doubled donation can make a difference, here: https://buff.ly/3AkgBd1

We have had spooktacular day here at Thornbury Hospital! We celebrated Halloween by raising money in aid of Snowdrop Project where we received an amazing total of £252.68 in donations from our amazing Thornbury team! We were thrilled to see so many staff join in with the fun. From creepy doughnuts to haunted brownies, the treats were a hit!

Our annual Photography Day took place today! Snowdrop's Photography Day was created after Martha* mentioned to her caseworker that her children’s annual picture day was coming up at their school. Martha said she would love to have some professional photos of her children taken, but it would cost £30 per child. As a single mum of three, this was just not feasible. We wanted to help, so Snowdrop's Photography Day was born! Clients can choose to have self-portraits, family photos or pictures of their children taken 📸 A huge thank you to Rachel, our amazing volunteer photographer - we couldn't have done it without you! *Name changed
