After 4 impactful years leading the Safeguarding Resource and Support Hub (RSH) in Nigeria, our SDDirect colleagues Oluchi Ihedoro MEAL DPro, Dr Eleanor Nwadinobi, Sylvia Nwoko, Emma Wokowu, and Jenny Larsson have started to transition the programme’s leadership to the Women's Rights and Health Project (WRAHP), an innovative NGO dedicated to advancing the health, rights, and development of women, young people, and communities in Nigeria. At Social Development Direct we are committed to localisation and sustainable impact. Across the RSH programme, we are piloting approaches that put local organisations at the forefront, leveraging their expertise and contextual knowledge to ensure safeguarding systems are appropriate and resilient. A huge thank you to the incredible team at WRAHP for their dedication and collaboration, and to everyone behind the scenes working to create safer spaces for all. We're excited to see how you will shape the future of safeguarding in Nigeria. #Safeguarding #PSEAH #GenderEquality

SDDirect is proud to have been involved in the development of new guidance from the Work and Opportunities for Women (WOW) programme. This practical resource looks at how to integrate gender into carbon credit projects. It is designed to help project developers in the Voluntary Carbon Market ensure carbon credits benefit all genders and improve outcomes for women involved in these projects. The resource also includes a section on how to identify risks of sexual exploitation, abuse and harassment and how to protect people from harm as a result of carbon credit projects. By integrating gender equity, and considering safe approaches as part of that, developers can boost the effectiveness of carbon credits, reduce business risks, and support more sustainable, responsible investments.
