SODA.Auto was invited to the city of Toulouse, France, on behalf of the local government. We were impressed by the city's unique support for innovation and partnerships and spent two wonderful days there. Toulouse is a hub for professionals in automotive, aerospace, and robotics. During our visit, we had the opportunity to meet with representatives from 10 well-known automotive brands. The level of understanding and commitment to innovation was exceptional. Our discussions were not only about the challenges the industry faces today but focused on shaping the future and driving innovation forward. We are eager to continue building relationships and exploring new partnerships in this vibrant city. Introducing SODA Software Defined Rig 2.9.0 Update! 〉Multiple Application Instances Multiple SDRig Application executors allow one computer to control up to 10 rigs, reducing the need for computers by 90% and significantly cutting hardware costs. 〉Harnessing Functional Pins Support for Functional Pins such as Digital Output, PWM, and current pins for closed-loop control systems. This allows the use of more actuators and sensors, along with their simulation models for validation, and the use of our modules as power relays. 〉Modules Pins Access from Tests Direct access to module pins from tests simplifies the process of testing modules and simulation models without the need for physical devices. 〉Bidirectional IO Ports for Simulation Models Bidirectional IO Ports allow simulation models to mimic real-world scenarios where a single wire serves multiple purposes (e.g., measuring current, setting voltage), such as a lamp supply wire. 〉Enhancing Keywords Library and Custom Keywords Foundation The enhanced Keywords Library improves test writing speed and convenience, while also enhancing AI Сopilot learning for better test suggestions. This release lays the foundation to create Custom Keywords. Currently, it can be done by request and in the next releases it would be able to create Custom Keywords directly within the SODA.Validate Studio. Stay tuned for more updates and improvements!

Jim Farley, the CEO of Ford Motor Company, recent visit to China highlighted a tough reality: “Chinese automakers are moving at the speed of light, using artificial intelligence and other advanced technologies in their cars that are different from any existing technology… This is an existential threat." Chinese OEMs are innovating rapidly, making it tough for western automakers to compete on price. It's not just Farley who is sounding the alarm, Elon Musk also warned —many OEMs are actually close to bankruptcy. The innovation lies in the complexity of automotive software. Unlike web code, which can be written, tested, and deployed in a single day, automotive development takes years. Each vehicle now contains around 100 million lines of code, and starting from scratch for every model is impractical and costly. To address this, the launch of SDVerse marks a transformative moment. Industry giants like General Motors, Magna International, and Renault have teamed up with innovation partners like SODA.Auto to make automotive software more accessible. Together we are committed to deliver automotive software as a licenced product through the marketplace. This collaboration aims to reduce the cost, time, and complexity of developing new vehicle software, benefiting both big OEMs and automotive startups.
