Hawaii-based middle school inspires underprivileged students with multi-million dollar recording studio, featuring Solid State Logic AWS 948 console. Washington Middle School in Honolulu recently completed a unique recording studio designed to inspire underprivileged students to follow their passions. The multi-million-dollar, one-of-a-kind project, backed by the Hawaii State Department of Education and eight years in the making, supports stereo and immersive productions and sports a long list of high-end recording equipment, including a Solid State Logic AWS 948 delta SuperAnalogue mixing console. Sam Fong, Sound Recording Studio Director was attracted to the SSL brand, but also to the idea of an analogue console. “We really wanted this studio to be analogue, combined with the most current digital technology... and a console like the AWS 948 delta basically combines the consoles of the ‘80s with modern workflows. Press a button and it becomes a comprehensive DAW controller. Then press a button and boom, you are back to a classic SSL console with all that glue and punch, with SSL’s famous Bus Compressor, with fully analogue preamps, E or G Series analogue EQs and analogue faders.” Read the full article here - https://lnkd.in/em3GwANA

Portugal's TVI anchors its multi-studio broadcast facility on Solid State Logic System T production platform, including S500 mixing console, Tempest Control App, and TE2 Tempest DSP engines. Portuguese broadcaster TVI (Televisão Independente) has installed a Solid State Logic System T broadcast platform to augment the operational flexibility of its multi-studio facility in Lisbon. The new system, comprising an S500 mixing console with redundant TE2 Tempest Engines and various Network I/O interfaces, has been integrated into the TVI production facility’s IP architecture, enabling it to operate with any of the plant’s existing studios. Multiple instances of SSL’s Tempest Control App (TCA) provide additional control options for audio operators or TVI’s engineering team. “System T was one of the few systems in the market that matched our demands in terms of sound quality, usability and redundancy,” says Ricardo Lima, Architecture & New Projects, Broadcast IT at the Technology Directorate for Media Capital, TVI’s owner.
