According to research by Harvard University, 80% of people exhibit unconscious biases in their lives... However, just 48% of HR managers admit bias affects which candidates they choose to hire. 🤔 What do these differing stats mean? It may be evidence to suggest that, for some hiring managers, their biases are still (as the name suggests) unconscious. Often shaped by our background, personal experiences and societal stereotypes, biases can become hardwired - making them difficult to identify and unlearn.
