Leading UK Exporter of British Cheese & Dairy Products
About us
Based in the Somerset town of Wellington, Somerdale International Ltd is one of the leading exporters of cheese and dairy products in the UK. Founded in 1990, we now export to over 50 countries around the world, supplying over 250 cheeses. We represent some of the highest quality cheese producers in Great Britain and our range of products include traditional Cheddars, blue cheeses, flavoured cheeses and traditional, hand-made artisan cheeses. Somerdale are the leading exporters of British cheese to the USA with shipments going into New York every week. We consolidate, ship and facilitate entry of all our products, taking away the hassle of buying specially imported cheese. We don't just offer the very best British cheese, but also provide extensive knowledge of how to market and sell the best of British. We have worked with specialty cheese retailers across the world, and are well placed to use that knowledge to promote British brands.

We were invited by European Imports to showcase our range at the Sysco Baraboo Turn of the Seasons Event, and we’re delighted with the positive feedback received! “Without surprise, all of the Somerdale items showed very well and got some really great and positive feedback; the Lemon Honey was an absolute showstopper!” Thank you to everyone who stopped by to taste and share their love for our British cheeses.

We thought we would share with you this fabulous photo of three generations of Quicke’s women taken in 2009 by the Western Morning News. The 13th,14th and 15th generation of the Quicke’s family to farm the land in Newton St Cyres, Devon! 🧀🐄 Pictured in the middle is the late Prue Quicke who built our Cheese Dairy in the early 1970s, below Prue is Mary who took over the running of Quicke’s from Prue in 1984 until earlier this year when Jane (pictured at the top) took on the running of the farm and cheesemaking operation here at Quicke’s.

Our friends at Jungle Jim's Market recently hosted the Sysco Mid-Central Region Holiday Showcase. Poacher’s Cheddar with balsamic onion and Wensleydale Lemon & Honey seemed to be the fan favourite products amongst the chefs and customers who stopped by our table to try our delicious range of products.

#TBT A very memorable day at the AHDB - Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board event held at AJ & RG Barber. We were honoured to welcome such a well-travelled group of guests, all sharing a genuine passion for farming and cheesemaking. It was inspiring to see the same level of enthusiasm from everyone who attended! A huge thanks to AHDB for allowing us to be part of this special event. 👏

#AskRyan We caught up with our very own Ryan in the US to discover his top cheese pairing. With the festive season approaching, there’s no better time to indulge in a little luxury with our Champagne Cheddar. Ryan says, “A fresh fig is the perfect pairing with Champagne Cheddar, offering a sweet and savoury balance that will really stand out on any cheeseboard.” Ryan also suggests, “If you’re feeling creative, melt the Champagne Cheddar into a sauce for Champagne Cheddar Popcorn Balls – a decadent twist on a classic snack, perfect for any celebration!” What would you pair with our Champagne Cheddar?
