Last week at Saplings 🍃 Last week our Somerhill Saplings focused on learning what to do in the woods and how to keep safe. They also learnt about the sycamore tree and looked at the leaves and the helicopter seeds.  Our young explorers made small baskets with the leaves and then went for a blackberry walk. They collected blackberries and made blackberry paint, squashing the juice on to paper. They even learned a song about brambles... On Monday 16th September, we hosted our Nursery and Kindergarten parents for our Meet the Teacher event. Parents had the opportunity to meet classroom teachers, our Early Years Foundation Stage leaders and hear about some of the wonderful activities and lessons planned for their little explorers over the coming year. #Nursery #Kindergarten #Somerhill #SomeSchool

This morning, we hosted our Somerhill Parents Association Coffee Morning. This was a fantastic opportunity for parents to come together over a hot drink and some snacks in our newly-refurbished dining room. We were pleased to be joined by representatives from Holroyd Howe, our new caterers, who provided insight into the delicious food that our children are served every day. Today, Mr Sinclair hosted 8AW for his weekly hot chocolate and doughnuts catch-up!    Each week, a different form group is invited to meet our Headmaster, Mr Sinclair, for a chat. On Friday 6th September, our Year 7 and 8 boys camped overnight at Somerhill for an evening filled with campfire songs and team-building activities! 🏕️ Tent building 🍗 BBQ and breakfast 🔥 Campfire songs and midnight treats 🌳 Night walks and a treasure hunt in the woods  Despite the weather, everyone had a great night, and on Saturday morning, there were lots of happy (and tired) campers! #Camping #Year7 #Year8 #Somerhill #SomeSchool
