Expanding on this success, we ventured into the U.S. legal market by opening an office in New York in 2022 and in 2023 we proudly launched our L.A. office in the bustling business district of Century City. "I'm not moving without getting a sign-on bonus" I get it - financials are important but making a lateral move purely for financials is not the right decision. Working in BigLaw is demanding, it's tough - but not every firm is the same. Work with your recruiter to understand your non-negotiables, how could your role be better and find a recruiter who will support you achieving those goals. Are my long term prospects better at another firm? Sometimes those non-negotiables are realistic sometimes they are not - find a consultant who will tell you either way. Things are about to getting busy, quick. Put your plan in place!

Addleshaw Goddard up's NQ salaries 💷 Those based in London now set to take home £100k a year. Newly-qualified lawyers in Leeds and Manchester have seen their salaries bumped up to £65k, while those in Scotland will now earn £61k. That equates to a roughly 5% pay rise on all UK-based NQ rates. Newly-qualified lawyers in Dublin will see their salaries upped to €75k, a 7% jump on the previous rate.
