In an industry still predominantly male, promoting gender equality is key to unlocking innovation and driving better business performance. ☀️ Visiting one of our largest solar plants in the UK ☀️ Over 100 members of the Sonnedix #OneTeam travelled out to Lincolnshire to witness up close one of our largest projects currently under construction in the UK – the 60MW Gonerby project. Spanning 70 hectares of land, Gonerby will produce nearly 60,000 MWh of clean electricity per year, enough to power 16,000 households and avoid 22,000 tonnes of CO2e emissions. It’s part of a portfolio comprising five projects spread across England, totalling close to 300 MW. There was a lot of excitement about our plans for the UK, as both Carlos Guinand and Axel Thiemann spoke about the opportunities and congratulated the team. Yesterday, our offices around the world came together to celebrate Sonnedix’s 15th Anniversary! From North and South America to Europe and Asia, our #OneTeam celebrated with Sonnedix hoodies and birthday cake, and reflected on some of the many milestones that have shaped our success. ➡️ 2010: Founded with a small 1 MW solar farm outside Granada, in Spain ➡️ 2013: Took on the challenge of entering Japan, one of the hardest markets for foreign-based companies to break into. ➡️ 2014: Continued past the 100 MW barrier ➡️2016: Surpassed the 100-employee mark and operating on four continents - we also became the 2nd largest solar PV player in Spain. ➡️2019: Broke ground at our Atacama site in Chile. ➡️2022: Acquired Sun Power Energy, entering the Polish market and welcomed 20 outstanding people to our #OneTeam ➡️2024: Will see the Douro project in Portugal becoming operational, our largest solar project yet in Europe. ➡️2025... United in Action: Our Response to the Flood Crisis in Poland 🌍 We have been devastated by the recent floods that have affected communities across Southern Poland. In response, our #OneTeam has come together to provide urgent support and relief to those in need: 🚀 Within hours, Anna Kozlowska and Justyna Dziewit, part of our Polish Growth and ESG team launched a plan to provide immediate relief. 🛠️ The following morning, Zbigniew Matuszewski, our Project Engineer in Poland assessed the damage in Lower Silesia and secured essential equipment including power generators, air dryers, cleaning supplies and space heaters. 🤝 Mayor Mirosław Pustuła of Bolków praised our efforts, highlighting the impact on community members. 🚀 We’ve officially reached 1 GW of renewable energy owned and operated in Spain, after our 150 MW Betierra portfolio reached commercial operation! Part of a cluster of 300 MW, the Betierra portfolio is located in the heart of the agricultural lands of Castilla-La Mancha in Cuenca. It consists of three 50 MW solar plants with shared interconnection infrastructure, a first for our Spanish portfolio. Congratulations to Javier Camello Lázaro , Pedro Gomez de Olea, Mar Briones, Eduardo Gens González, and Yon Senent Gil, and the whole #OneTeam who have been instrumental in the portfolio’s journey since it was acquired from RIC Energy in 2021 🙌 This is Sonnedix’s 10th plant to achieve the commercial operation date (COD) milestone this year!
