We presented and discussed the economy, construction industry, our safety stats, quality awareness, financial results, project delivery, future workload and how we continue to improve our overall delivery service. It was encouraging to see high levels of interaction from the entire team so we are able to use this feedback to further strengthen our collaborative culture and push the marginal gains to achieve greater success. 10 WEEKS COMPLETE 🏗️🏢🔨 Incredible delivery by Allan John Capps and the team at Meriden Close, Canford Cliffs on behalf of MPS Building Ltd. We have completed the groundwork and RC Frame before Christmas in an incredible 10 weeks from start to finish. The development is situated in a highly sought location that has stunning views overlooking Branksome Chine beaches. We have kept the access clear at all times and the roads immaculate for the neighbouring properties whilst building the works with little working room. WE ARE RECRUITING - FINANCE ASSISTANT We are looking for an additional person to join our accounts team on a part time basis. You will be an integral part of the Accounts Department working within a small friendly team, using your own initiative and supporting the Accounts Manager. Duties to include: - Matching/checking delivery notes to orders & invoices - Raising price/Qty discrepancies - Liaising directly with suppliers - Supplier reconciliations - Posting of approved invoices and bank payments to Xero - Assisting with bank reconciliation. - Collating of information for weekly subcontractors pay run - Processing weekly payroll - Managing agency staff hours/costs - Assisting with month end payment run - Assisting with the preparation of management accounts. We are looking for someone 25-30 hrs a week, Monday – Friday would be preferable but some flexibility can be considered for the right person. Previous accounts experience essential. Xero experience desirable, training can be provided. TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT 🏗️🏢🔨👷👷♀️ We are pleased to welcome Owen Bayly-Simmonds to our business where he’ll be carrying out his Formwork apprenticeship at the National Construction College. Owen enjoyed his first day at the office today to be inducted, understand the business better and what the next few months look like for him. He’s ready to go in his nice shiny kit and will no doubt be given a fast track lesson in site comeradarie tomorrow and beyond as his journey begins. We will make sure Owen is supported the whole way and look forward watching him grow. VICTORY WITH VINCI 🏢🏗️ We have successfully completed the first phase of works before the main groundwork and RC Frame commences at Winchester Hospital on behalf of VINCI Building UK. Our works have included site clearance, main foul sewer diversion, main gas diversion, bulk excavation, disposal offsite, three tiered pile mat and piling attendance. Bournemouth FC Training Academy - MAIN CONTRACTOR ⚽️ 🏗️🏢 This project is a huge milestone in our company’s journey… why? We acted as Principal Contractor on a major development on behalf of a Premier League Football Club. Why was the project a success? • Trust We built trust from day one and never breached it. • Competency We did exactly what we said, to a high standard, everyday. • Delivery We lived up to and achieved the ambitious pre-contract agreements. • Collaboration We went the extra mile, had a proactive attitude and was a team player along with the architect, engineer and client. A huge thanks to Darren Booth who believed in us and gave us the opportunity to show him and AFC Bournemouth ownership and leadership team our professional and collaborative approach. The project would not have been a resounding success without the following people: • Craig Jones Drove the groundwork from day one and relentlessly pushed the delivery, safety and quality with challenging weather conditions the whole way. An old school brain in a young(ish 😁) man’s body, great effort Craig. • Allan John Capps Led all formwork, reinforcement and concrete operations in tandem with Craig. Nothing is ever a problem for Cappsy, another legend in the game that gives the construction industry hope of becoming a much better place in the future. • Daragh Quinn Made our plans turn into reality. Ensured we had buildable information to not miss programme deadlines or compromise Safety or Quality.
