Founder & Social Media Manager @ Abbie June Socials 🍄 Marketing & Events Manager @ SPACE Runcorn CIC | Freelance Social Media Management & Content Creation Support Available

It’s been a while… The last few months have been a whirlwind of client work and my chaotic personal life… and honestly, I just haven’t had the energy to post on my own business socials - SMMs, you know the struggle! 🫣 But I’m back with some exciting news 👀 In addition to my freelance social media and content creation services, I’ve officially launched another business… One of my amazing clients, SPACE Runcorn CIC, offers affordable and accessible wellbeing events for the local community. Inspired by their mission, I wanted to combine my psychology degree with my love for creativity. Art has always been a huge part of my own coping mechanisms and I wanted to help others unleash their creative side for their mental wellbeing. So, I took the leap, completed my training, got to work on canva, and The Therapy Palette was born! 🎨 I’ll be running regular workshops alongside the brilliant Caroline Moss, a psychotherapist at Eleven:11 Therapy, to support our community’s wellbeing through creative expression. Most of you don’t live locally to me, so I know you won’t be able to attend - but I just wanted to share the news!! If you’re interested… the first introductory workshop will explore the principles of therapeutic art-making and how creative expression can support your wellbeing. Through guided activities, you’ll have the chance to share, create, and reflect, leaving with practical techniques you can continue using at home. No artistic experience needed - just an open mind! It’s all about the process, not the final piece. 👩🎨 I can’t wait for my first workshop and if you needed a sign to go ahead and do that thing you’ve been weighing up… this is it! 💛

Learning BSL is a powerful step towards breaking down barriers and making mental health spaces more accessible for all. Thank you to Deafness Resource Centre and Halton Sensory Services for delivering such a valuable course. • On Saturday we joined the Fortuna Female Society (FFS) at their ‘Know Your Worth’ International Women’s Day event at Halton & St Helens Voluntary and Community Action. We had a great day getting involved in some self-love crafts, hearing talks from inspiring women and finally hosted a live Holding …SPACE podcast episode! For this episode we were joined by Laura B. and Karen from FFS, Jessica from It Starts With You and Alison from Just Bee You. We talked about all things inequality and knowing your worth. Listen to the episode below… 🔗: https://lnkd.in/ejV7UVpt If you are looking at joining us for one of our podcast episodes, please reach out to our Events & Marketing Manager Abbie at abbie@spaceruncorn.co.uk 💚

  • Today, businesses worldwide recognise the invaluable contributions of women. While this is essential, so is addressing the persistent inequalities affecting women’s lives and mental health. Many challenges stem from factors beyond their control—biological processes, life stages, and exposure to violence or discrimination—leading to mental health struggles, burnout, and, in some cases, suicide. The reality women still face: • Pregnancy Discrimination – Every 7 minutes, a woman in the UK loses her job due to pregnancy or maternity leave (74,000 per year). • Menopause & Work – 900,000 women in the UK have left jobs due to severe menopause symptoms. • Sexual Harassment – 13% of women in England & Wales reported harassment in just six months. • Domestic Violence – 1.6 million women experienced domestic abuse in a year (ending March 2024). • Femicide – Over 15 years, 170+ mothers were killed by their sons—10% of female homicides. • Mental Health – Women are twice as likely to have anxiety than men. 53% feel burnt out, highlighting the significant mental health challenges they face. While female suicide rates have declined (5.6 per 100,000 in 2023), mental health struggles, violence, and workplace barriers still take a toll. But change is possible. Every policy, conversation, and act of empathy creates a better world. When businesses support women—through inclusive policies, mental health resources, and open dialogue—they foster workplaces where everyone thrives. At SPACE, we stand with women. If you’re struggling with workplace stress, personal trauma, or mental health challenges, our ambassadors are here to support you. Because women’s mental, physical & emotional wellbeing matters—and change starts with all of us. #InternationalWomensDay

CEO of SPACE Runcorn CIC. Positive Psychologist & BACP Registered Therapist. Founder of Crank Club. Writer/ Creator.

One of the advantages of working in the voluntary sector is that we can respond super quickly when we spot a need...and that's just what happened when we realised how our community needed support with ADHD! ADH-Me is the psycho-education and coaching programme that I created to help better support adults who are struggling to navigate ADHD (of which I am one!). And I'm so proud of it that I thought it needed to be shared. This 6 month programme uses principles of Positive Psychology alongside neuroscience, coaching techniques and counselling theory. Sessions are designed to empower participants to understand their own neurodiversity, get valuable support and validation from peers, find practical ways to make a life more manageable and foster new confidence. The demand for ADH-Me blew me away (it sold out in just 12 hours!) but also, I guess, it's not surprising given the current situation for ADHD in the NHS! With waiting lists for assessments reaching over 10 years in places, GPs refusing shared care and the terrifying threat of the withdrawal of Right to Choose (if you don't know then you need to look it up!) - it does feel like us ADHD-ers are being left to fend for ourselves. There is a lot of work to be done and a long road ahead but ADH-Me is already helping our community take a powerful first step forward- and thats something worth celebrating. If you want to find out more about how to join the next ADH-Me programme or to link up and offer this support through your organisation or service then I'd love to hear from you.... #adhd #adhdcoaching #coaching #communitymentalhealth #nhs #righttochoose

  • Yesterday we had our first staff & volunteer Team Day 💚 We discussed all things about SPACE’s mission & vision, how we stand out from our competitors, ways we can improve to better serve our community & so much more! The day was led by Andy Guile, thanks to funding from UK SPF Resilience & Capacity Project Awards Scheme via Halton & St Helens VCA. He did a fantastic job of keeping our team engaged & continually challenged us to think deeper. It was such a meaningful & fun day, we can’t wait to work as a team to action what was discussed! We ended our day with a delicious meal at the Norton Arms to celebrate all we have achieved as a team in 2024. Thank you to our team members that were able to attend, we can’t wait for our next Team Day already! We can’t wait to continue supporting our community with their mental health & to see what 2025 brings for us at SPACE.

  • Due to the heavy snow over the past few days, we’ve had to close or limit our opening hours, which is far from ideal given how vital our services are to the community. At times like this, we’re reminded of how important spaces like ours are for tackling isolation, loneliness, and mental health struggles. The bad weather can make it even harder for people to connect with others, leaving them feeling stuck, alone, and struggling with their mental health. These are the very challenges we aim to address every day at SPACE. But please remember: This too shall pass. Just like the snow will melt and life will return to normal, the feelings of being overwhelmed, isolated, or alone can also pass with the right support. We’re here to remind you that brighter days are ahead. While we can’t welcome our community in person right now, there are incredible online services available for those struggling at home. Don’t hesitate to reach out for support: 📞 Call 111 – NHS Crisis Helpline (Open 24/7) 📞 Call 116 123 – Samaritans (Open 24/7) 📱 Text 85258 – SHOUT Text Service (Open 24/7) We’re so proud of the difference SPACE makes in people’s lives, and it’s clear how much we’re needed, especially on days like this. Stay safe, stay warm, and take care of yourselves and each other. We’ll update you each day on our opening hours and events. But don’t worry, we’ll be back to normal hours soon and can’t wait to welcome you back 💚
