NatWest Group partners with Sparta Global to secure technology talent from diverse backgrounds and support the continued growth of its One Bank Mortgages (OBM) platform. This video follows some of the 12 Spartans specialising in Software Engineering, Test Automation, and DevOps who were selected to join NatWest’s OBM team. Those joining were made up of women, those first in their families to go to university, and individuals from minority backgrounds. These consultants secured the opportunity on attitude, aptitude and potential alone – not prior technology experience or educational background. Since joining the team, they have converted to full-time employees at NatWest to continue their personal and professional growth – with two selected for the future leaders programme. Our first December Spartan of the Month - Meet Sibel! 👋🏆 Despite no programming experience, Sibel Hassan pursued Software Engineering at University and fell in love with software development. Joining our Java Test Automation programme and Athena Academy soon after in 2024, she gained essential skills and confidence to take her career to the next level. Now a Test Engineer in the public sector, Sibel leads a migration project, tackling everything from API testing to automation.
