SpecialEffect along with our friends Action Through Enterprise have been lucky enough to have received passionate support over many years from Gamma and their channel partners as part of the #GammaBallRally car event. This amazing event heading to various destinations across Europe in themed cars taking part in themed challenges is currently on the way to Bordeaux generously raising funds and awareness for both causes. Tomorrow night at the end of the rally Nick from SpecialEffect will join Sarah from Action Through Enterprise at the gala dinner to update on the impact that the event has had and will have for the people each charity helps. One of the areas Nick will be talking about will be our BubbleBuster project which tackles long-term medical isolation through the use of small, friendly, home-controlled desktop robots that place the child’s eyes, ears and voice right back into the classroom and playground. The project that provides life-changing reconnections that overcome loneliness, reuniting friends and rekindle access to education was recently the subject of feature from No Isolation, creators of the AV1 robot and the story of the project is told now at the link below with team members Dr Mick, Jo and Harry! https://lnkd.in/eiC_NstV Thank you to each and every person and company who is supporting the rally and if you follow SpecialEffect please do check out the work of our fellow #GammaBallRally charity and friends Action Through Enterprise and see the amazing work they do changing lives in Ghana.
About us
We're a charity that's helping everyone with disabilities to enjoy video games for fun, inclusion and rehabilitation. We know there's no one-size-fits-all way of doing this. That's why we're not about sending out free games or video game equipment. In fact we don't sell anything at all. We visit people to find out exactly what they want to play, and what they need to play it. We'll then lend them the equipment they need, and support them until they can get the best out of it. By committing time, patience and expertise, we can open the door to self-esteem, confidence and a better quality of life.

A BIG shout out to our brilliant ambassador Robin Beanland from Rare Ltd who is taking part in the Ride Across Britain this week, cycling the gruelling 980 mile route from Lands End to John O’Groats to raise vital funds and awareness for SpecialEffect 💙 This is the third (and final!) time Robin attempts this epic feat of endurance and we're so grateful for his incredible ongoing support: https://lnkd.in/eD2ygHWQ Good luck, Sir! 🚴♂️💨

Start your engines! Good luck and thank you to every single person and company involved in the Gamma Ball Rally heading to France next week in aid of the work of SpecialEffect and Action Through Enterprise 🇫🇷🙏🚕
This time next week our Gamma Ball Rally teams will be racing to the finishing line in Bordeaux! 🏁 But before they set off, we’re shining a light on the fantastic charities we’re supporting through this epic three-day adventure. SpecialEffect is an incredible organisation that puts fun and inclusion back into the lives of physically disabled people across the world. 🌍 They are transforming lives and they explained in their recent video the impact of the Gamma Ball Rally donations. Through innovative technology, users with physical challenges can play video games and connect with their friends. 🎮 Check it out below, and any kind donations would be hugely appreciated – https://lnkd.in/egnK7K_u. #GammaBallRally #charity

Every significant racing franchise to have been developed in the UK over the last 30 years will be celebrated and represented. The paddocks will be adorned with memorabilia, merchandise and real world cars from the greatest games of our generation, including Need for Speed, Forza, OutRun, F1 Clash, Gran Turismo, Sonic Racing and lots more. The day will feature opportunities for passenger rides, a skid pan experience and a pit stop challenge, whilst racing game inspired cars take to the circuit for parades and demonstrations throughout the day.
